Skin botox — Dermatoxin on our menu — is what I reach for when the complaint is the surface itself: stretched-looking pores, fine crepey lines, skin that photographs rough under shop lighting. Tiny amounts of botulinum toxin are placed shallow and spread across the area instead of a full dose into one muscle.

The fine muscle fibres that tug at the skin surface settle, oil output eases, and the skin looks smoother while your face still moves. At Muse Clinic Myeongdong, Dermatoxin skin botox starts from ₩69,000 (excl. 10% VAT) for a first-visit session with the Korean-made toxin. Below is what it changes, what it will not change, and the honest timeline.

What is skin botox, and how is it different from wrinkle Botox?

Same product, different plan. Standard anti-wrinkle Botox puts a full dose deep into one muscle so that a specific fold stops creasing. Skin botox divides a dose into many micro-injections just under the surface across a whole zone, so no single muscle is switched off.

That changes what you notice. You do not see a frown line disappear. You see a cheek that looks tighter and less shiny, pores that read smaller in photos, and the fine lines that appear when you smile sitting less sharply on the skin. Our treatment list sums the goal up as moisturised skin, elastic texture and softer facial lines.

Who skin botox suits, and who it does not

Our list describes the typical candidate plainly: someone who wants tightening and smaller-looking pores, someone whose skin has lost overall elasticity, someone who wants firm skin without fine lines, and someone who simply wants a silkier surface. In consultations that usually translates into one of the lines below.

  • Pores that look stretched across the nose, cheeks and mid-face
  • Skin that feels slack and looks dull or uneven in photos
  • Fine crepey lines that show when you smile, without deep folds yet
  • Oily, shiny skin where makeup slides and sits in the pores
  • Not a match on its own: deep static folds, ice-pick or boxcar acne scars, melasma or sun spots

How skin botox is done at Muse: the 10–20 minute visit

The sequence on our list is short: a one-to-one consultation, numbing cream, then the treatment. What sits around it matters more than the injections themselves — you meet an interpreter at reception, and the plan is made and performed by the head doctor rather than handed to someone else.

  1. 01Consultation one to one: I look at your skin under light, check oiliness and elasticity, and mark the zones.
  2. 02Numbing cream goes on and sits while you wait in the lounge.
  3. 03You see the vial opened and the dose measured. Genuine product, correct dosage is the clinic's first motto.
  4. 04Micro-injections across the mapped area — the treatment itself runs about 10 to 20 minutes.
  5. 05Small red dots for a short while, no dressing. You can go back out into Myeongdong.

Skin botox price in Seoul: the Dermatoxin options

The number changes for one reason: which toxin you choose. The Korean-made Dermatoxin is the standard option and the entry point at from ₩69,000 (excl. 10% VAT). Premium Dermatoxin uses Coretox, a Korean toxin selected for a low risk of resistance — the difference matters if you plan to repeat toxin treatments for years. There is also an Allergan option for patients who want that specific product.

Prices exclude 10% VAT. Event prices run for a limited period and may change — the treatment page always shows the current numbers.

There is no separate price for visitors. The whole list, every option and every number, is public on the treatments page, and the line you pay is the line a Korean patient reads. If you want me to pick, I will tell you which option I would choose for your skin rather than defaulting to the expensive one.

Skin botox timeline: when it shows and how long it lasts

This is the part visitors most often get wrong, because they check the mirror on the way back to the hotel. Nothing dramatic happens that evening. Here is the sequence I describe at every consultation. Results and how long they last vary from person to person.

Typical Dermatoxin skin botox timeline
WhenWhat you notice
Day 0Tiny red dots at the injection points, usually gone within hours. Makeup the next morning is fine.
Days 3–7A light tightened feeling across the treated zone. Skin often feels less oily by the afternoon.
Week 1–2Pores read smaller in photos, the surface looks more even and reflects light more smoothly.
Month 2–3The effect gradually fades toward your baseline. Most people repeat around here to hold the texture.

Skin botox or Skin vive? What I choose for dry, textured skin

They solve different halves of the same complaint. Skin botox tightens the surface and calms oil, so it suits skin that is slack, shiny and open-pored. Skin vive is an FDA-approved hyaluronic acid formulation injected into the skin of the cheeks to improve fine wrinkles and hydration — it starts from ₩220,000 (excl. 10% VAT) and is the one I lean toward when the skin is dry, rough and thin rather than oily.

Plenty of people fit both descriptions in different zones: oily and open-pored through the T-zone, dry and crepey on the cheeks. In that case we can plan them together or in sequence, and I will explain what each part is doing. If hydration is your main goal, our guide to skin boosters in Korea compares the injectable options in more detail. If your concern is bumpy surface rather than pores, read the note on textured skin treatment first.

Side effects and the part worth hearing before you book

Skin botox is a light, superficial injection, but every procedure can have side effects and you should hear them before you agree. The usual ones are short-lived: pinpoint redness, a small bruise where a needle met a capillary, or a mild heavy feeling in the treated area for a few days while the skin adapts.

  • Pinpoint red dots or mild swelling for a few hours after the session.
  • A small bruise at one or two points, usually covered by makeup the next day.
  • A temporary heavy or over-tight feeling if the area is dosed generously — it eases as the effect settles.
  • Rarely, slight weakness in a nearby expression muscle if toxin spreads; it is temporary and avoided by keeping the injections shallow and evenly spaced.

Why visitors book skin botox at Muse Clinic Myeongdong

Three things we put in writing instead of promising. One price list, identical to the Korean price, published in full on the website with VAT stated separately. Interpreters in the clinic in English, Japanese and Chinese, with other languages arranged on request, staying with you from consultation to aftercare. The head doctor consults and treats — after the structured consultation, the plan is made and performed one to one by Dr. Sarang Lim.

Questions people ask

Before you message us

What is skin botox and how is it different from normal Botox?

Skin botox, called Dermatoxin on our list, uses the same botulinum toxin but in a different way. Instead of a full dose placed deep into one expression muscle, very small amounts are spread shallow across an area such as the cheeks, forehead or under the eyes. The target is surface texture, pore size and fine crepey lines rather than a single deep fold, so ordinary expression generally stays.

How much does skin botox cost in Seoul?

At Muse Clinic Myeongdong, Dermatoxin skin botox starts from ₩69,000 (excl. 10% VAT) for a first-visit session with the Korean-made toxin, and there is a premium Coretox option above it. The full option list with current numbers sits on the treatment page and on our public price list. It is the same list a Korean patient reads; there is no separate foreigner menu.

Does skin botox freeze your expression?

The dose per injection point is small and placed in the skin rather than into the belly of a large expression muscle, so most people keep normal movement while the surface looks smoother and tighter. How much tightness you feel in the first week varies from person to person. If you also want a specific frown or forehead line softened, that is a separate anti-wrinkle dose and I plan it with you at the consultation.

How long does skin botox last?

Patients usually describe a tighter feeling in the face within about a week or less, and the effect typically holds for around two to three months before texture drifts back toward baseline. Repeating before it fully wears off keeps the skin in a steadier state. Results and how long they last vary from person to person, depending on skin type, oiliness and age.

Is skin botox good for large pores and textured skin?

It is one of the main reasons people book it. Relaxing the tiny muscle fibres around the follicles and calming oil production makes pore openings look less stretched, and the skin surface reflects light more evenly. It will not fill an ice-pick acne scar or remove pigmentation, though. If your texture is mostly scarring, I will say so and suggest a resurfacing route instead.

Can I get skin botox during a short trip to Seoul?

Yes. The injection part takes roughly 10 to 20 minutes after numbing cream, there is no dressing, and you can walk back into Myeongdong the same afternoon. Small red dots at the injection points usually settle within hours. Message us on WhatsApp with your dates; we are open Monday to Friday 10:00–20:00 and Saturday to Sunday 09:00–15:00, one minute from Myeongdong Station Exit 5.

Results and maintenance period vary by individual. Every procedure carries the possibility of side effects, which are explained before you agree to treatment. Prices exclude 10% VAT and event prices may change. This article is general information from the clinic and is not a diagnosis; suitability is decided at the consultation.
