A Korean facial at a clinic is not the facial you know from a spa. There is no massage and no scented candle. There is a cleanse or a medical-grade peel, an ampoule pushed into the skin, a mask, and a device step: oxygen, cryo cooling or an LED regeneration laser, in the order a doctor chose for your skin. It is the maintenance layer of Korean skincare, the thing locals book between lasers and injections.
At Muse Clinic Myeongdong the clinic facials start from ₩19,000 (excl. 10% VAT), the same line a Korean patient pays. Below I explain what each of our four facials includes, who books which, how the visit runs from WhatsApp to sunblock, and when a spa facial would honestly serve you better.
Korean facial at a clinic vs a spa facial: what actually differs
The difference is who plans it and what is used. In a clinic the head doctor looks at your skin first and chooses the steps; the acids, ampoules, oxygen dome and LED are medical-clinic tools; and the facial can sit on the same visit as a laser or an injection, either as preparation or as the calming step afterwards. A spa facial is built around massage and relaxation with cosmetic-grade products, and it is very good at that.
| Clinic facial (Muse) | Spa facial | |
|---|---|---|
| Who plans it | Head doctor after a consultation with an interpreter | Aesthetician, usually from a menu |
| Core steps | Peel or cleanse, ampoule, mask, oxygen / cryo / LED device | Cleanse, massage, mask, moisturiser |
| Goal | A change in pores, hydration, tone or irritation | Relaxation and a pampered feeling |
| Combine with laser or injection | Yes, same visit, ordered by the doctor | No |
| Time | About 40 minutes for an aqua peel; longer with oxygen steps | 60–90 minutes |
The four Korean facial treatments on our list, and who books each
Aqua Peeling: pores, blackheads and oily skin
The result is skin that feels clean at the pore level: fewer blackheads and whiteheads, less shine, makeup that stays put. A water-based tip runs an AHA and BHA solution over the face in three stages, loosening sebum, dead skin and waste inside the pore and lifting it out, then a modelling mask and sunblock. The whole process is about 40 minutes and it works on all skin types, oily and acne-prone included. Aqua Peeling is from ₩29,000 excl. VAT.
O2 Derm: oxygen and anions for dull, dehydrated skin
You leave with skin that looks brighter and more hydrated, and calmer if it was irritated. After a self face wash, a whipping mask, a vitality ampoule, the O2 Derm oxygen mask and a modelling mask follow, with a regeneration laser on the event line. Our list recommends it for skin that needs quick recovery from several troubles at once, for anyone who wants a treatment that does not sting, and for calming after a laser. O2 Derm is from ₩69,000 excl. VAT.
Oxygen Therapy: the full-care facial
This is the longest sequence on the list: pore mask, oxygen sprayed with nutrients into the skin, oxygen cryo, a technique step in the full version, ampoule, oxygen mask, modelling and the LED regeneration laser. It is sold in one, two or three phases, and the three-phase full care is what I suggest when the skin is tired, dry and slow to recover. Oxygen Therapy is from ₩150,000 excl. VAT.
Skin Regeneration Care: the calming step after a peel or laser
Heat and redness drop within the session. A cryo-cell ampoule chosen from whitening, moisturising, soothing, elasticity or regeneration goes on cooled skin, followed by the LED regeneration laser and sunscreen. It is built for skin that has been stimulated, by a laser, a peel, sun or wind, and it is the lowest line on our list. Skin Regeneration Care is from ₩19,000 excl. VAT.

Korean facial prices in Seoul: the published list
What moves the price is the number of steps included and what is added: a modelling mask and LED on the base line, a cryo or oxygen add-on on the next line, and the full multi-phase sequence at the top. Every number is the one a Korean patient sees, published on the treatments page. Prices exclude 10% VAT, added at payment.

The sequence of a clinic facial visit in Myeongdong
A structured consultation with an interpreter comes first. Then the head doctor plans the facial and, where a device or a laser is involved, performs that part one to one. The facial steps run in a care room with individually curtained beds. Here is the order, from your first message to walking back out.
- 01Message on WhatsApp with your dates and concern; we reply with the suggested facial and a slot.
- 02Reception, 3rd floor, one minute from Myeongdong Station Exit 5. An interpreter meets you.
- 03Consultation: I look at the skin under light, ask about your routine and flight date, and set the steps.
- 04Self face wash in the powder room; the cleanse is part of the plan.
- 05The facial itself: peel or cleanse, ampoule, mask, then oxygen, cryo or LED as planned. About 40 minutes for an aqua peel.
- 06Sunblock, then makeup if you want it. You walk back into Myeongdong the same hour.
| When | Aqua peel | Oxygen / O2 Derm / regeneration care |
|---|---|---|
| Same day | Skin feels clean and slightly tight; mild pinkness for a few hours in some people | Skin looks plumper and calmer straight away; makeup is fine |
| Next day | Pores look clearer; makeup sits better | Hydration holds; any redness from an earlier laser is lower |
| Week 1 | Shine and blackheads return slowly; repeat up to twice a week if you like | Glow fades gradually; repeat when the skin feels dull again |
Results and how long they last vary from person to person. A facial is maintenance, not a one-time fix; what it changes is how the skin looks this week, and how well it tolerates the laser or injection you may have planned around it.
Pairing a Korean facial with a laser or injection on the same trip
This is where a clinic facial earns its price over a spa. Our list recommends O2 Derm and skin regeneration care for calming after laser or peeling treatments, so the usual order is laser first, facial after, on the same visit or the next day. An aqua peel a day or two before a laser clears the pore first. If you are also planning Botox or a lifting session, say so in the first message; the doctor sets the order.
- Skin that was irritated by a laser: skin regeneration care or O2 Derm the same day
- Clogged pores before a laser: aqua peel a day or two earlier
- Dry, dull skin before a photo event: oxygen therapy two to three days before
- Not a facial job: pigment, deep scars, sagging. Those go to the laser, injection or lifting pages
Side effects, and who should wait
Facials are mild, but every procedure can have side effects. An aqua peel can leave pinkness or dryness for a day, and a few people with very reactive skin get a short flare of small bumps. Oxygen and LED steps are low-stimulation, which is why they are the calming choice. Skin that is sunburnt, has an open wound or an active cold sore, or is on a strong retinoid, should wait; tell us before you book and I will say whether to move the date.
Why visitors book their Korean facial at Muse Clinic Myeongdong
Three things we put in writing rather than promise. One price list, identical to the Korean price: no foreigner menu, every option and number published on the website. Interpreters in the clinic, in English, Japanese and Chinese, who stay with you from consultation through treatment. The head doctor consults first: the plan is set by Dr. Sarang Lim after a structured consultation, not picked from a menu at the counter.
We are open Monday to Friday 10:00–20:00 and Saturday to Sunday 09:00–15:00, on the 3rd floor of the building with a Twosome Place café at street level, across from the Shinsegae side of Hoehyeon Station. A facial between shopping on a Saturday morning is a normal booking for us.

Questions people ask
Before you message us
What is a Korean facial?
In Seoul the phrase usually means a clinic facial: a sequence of a medical-grade peel or cleanse, an ampoule, a mask and a device step such as oxygen, cryo or LED, planned by a doctor and done in a treatment room. It is the maintenance layer of Korean skincare, the thing locals book between lasers and injections. A spa facial is built around massage and relaxation with cosmetic-grade products; a clinic facial is built around a skin result.
How much is a facial in Seoul?
On our list the clinic facials run from ₩19,000 for a first-visit skin regeneration care session, from ₩29,000 for an aqua peel, from ₩69,000 for O2 Derm oxygen therapy and from ₩150,000 for the full oxygen therapy, all excluding 10% VAT. Those are the same lines a Korean patient pays. Event prices run for a limited period, so the treatment page always shows the current numbers.
Where can I get a Korean facial in Seoul as a tourist?
Myeongdong is where most visitors stay, and Muse Clinic Myeongdong is a one-minute walk from Myeongdong Station Exit 5, open Monday to Friday 10:00–20:00 and weekends 09:00–15:00. English, Japanese and Chinese interpreters are in the clinic. Message us on WhatsApp with your dates and the concern (pores, dryness, dullness, post-laser calming) and we will suggest the facial that fits and the earliest slot.
Can I get a facial the day before my flight?
Yes, if you choose the right one. Oxygen therapy, O2 Derm and skin regeneration care are calming and leave the skin hydrated with little redness, so they suit the last day. An aqua peel can leave mild pinkness for a few hours, so I place it earlier in a trip. Reactions differ from person to person, which is why we ask about your flight when planning.
Is a clinic facial better than a spa facial?
They do different jobs. A spa facial relaxes you and leaves the skin feeling pampered. A clinic facial is chosen by a doctor for a skin problem: clogged pores, dehydration, dullness, or irritated skin after a laser. The acids in an aqua peel and the oxygen and LED steps are medical-clinic tools, and the facial can be combined with a laser or an injection on the same visit. If you want relaxation, book the spa; if you want a change in the skin, book the clinic.
How often should I get a Korean facial?
An aqua peel is gentle enough to repeat as often as twice a week without straining the skin. Oxygen therapy and O2 Derm are usually booked around a specific need: a dull week, dry winter skin, or the days after a laser. Skin regeneration care is the calming step after any peel or laser. On a trip, one peel early and one calming facial late covers most visitors; how your skin responds varies from person to person.
Results and maintenance period vary by individual. Every procedure carries the possibility of side effects, which are explained before you agree to treatment.
