Korea Acid Filler Price: What Decides It? Reviews & Recovery

Korea acid filler price depends on product, area and cc. Foreign patients at Muse pay the local price list. Send a photo and ask for your case on WhatsApp.

Worried that a Korea acid filler price quoted per cc won't match what you or your parent actually pay at the clinic?

Read this before you compare clinics or book the flights.

Hello, I'm Sarang Lim, M.D., Head Doctor.

You'll know what decides the cost, what reviews get right and wrong, which methods suit which area, and how recovery fits around a flight home. That makes it easier to decide how much filler fits the face in question and your budget.

Hello, I'm Dr. Sarang Lim, Head Doctor at Muse Clinic Myeongdong and an advisory doctor for Juvéderm.

Foreign patients here use the same price list as Korean locals, and our menu prices are published on the site. English, Japanese and Chinese interpreters are in the clinic, and someone stays with you from consultation through treatment.

I wrote this because many people compare the price of 1cc and stop there, when the number of cc and the area being treated can change the total far more.

Acid filler means hyaluronic acid filler. What you pay in Korea depends mainly on the product, the area of the face and the amount in cc, plus VAT where listed prices exclude it.

If you're not sure where to start, send one front-facing daylight photo on WhatsApp with one question: which area would you treat first on my budget? You'll be asking about one real face, which a general price list can't cover.

What does acid filler actually mean?

In short, it's hyaluronic acid filler, a gel injected under the skin to add volume. Hyaluronic acid is a substance your skin already makes, and the word "acid" here has nothing to do with a chemical peel.

The name matters for your budget because not everything called filler is this gel. Sculptra and Radiesse are on our filler menu, but they are different materials, a collagen stimulator and a calcium-based filler. The American Society of Plastic Surgeons also sorts fillers by material. A quote for one of those can't be set beside a quote for hyaluronic acid as if they were the same thing.

Hyaluronic acid filler is temporary. The body breaks it down over time, at a speed that differs by person and by product, so you're paying for a change that fades. If a result needs correcting, doctors can generally dissolve this type of filler with an enzyme called hyaluronidase, which is one reason many first-time patients and their families ask for it by name.

What moves a Korea acid filler price for your face?

Five things do most of the work: the product, the area, the amount, what surrounds the injection, and tax. Days in Korea then add to the cost of the trip. Here is how they show up on our own menu, with the question that makes each one clear.

FactorHow it moves the totalWhat to ask
ProductPure (Soon soo) filler and Juvéderm are separate optionsWhich product is in this quote?
AreaSome general 1cc options exclude the nose, forehead and under-eye areaDoes this option cover my area?
AmountOptions are listed by cc, so each added cc changes the totalHow many cc for the change I want?
NumbingAnesthetic cream is a step in the filler processIs numbing included in this figure?
TaxPrices on our pages exclude 10% VATIs this number before or after VAT?

The current options are set out in our list of Korean filler prices in Seoul, and our Juvéderm page lets you tick what you're considering and see an estimate with VAT added.

Days in Korea belong in your budget too, though they never appear on a clinic's list. The injection itself is short: our facial filler treatment page gives about 10 minutes per 1cc. The extra hotel nights you add to leave room for swelling are what cost money, and for a parent traveling with you, those nights count twice.

Follow-up is the last piece. We don't do filler retouching, and any amount left over is discarded. For budgeting, that means thinking in terms of what is used at this visit, and not assuming spare product can be saved for a later trip.

A worked example, without numbers

Say you're arranging this for your 58-year-old mother. The folds beside her mouth bother her, the hollows under her eyes bother her a little, and you have one budget and five days in Seoul.

If she were sitting across from me, I'd first ask which of the two she notices in the mirror. Under-eye skin is thin, so product placed there can show, and small amounts make sense. The folds may need a different amount altogether. I would price each area on its own, start with the one she cares about, and only then decide whether the second belongs on this trip.

A total means little until you know what's in the syringe and how much of it goes in. Genuine product and the correct dosage come first for me, and I'd encourage you to ask any doctor to show you the sealed package before injecting. If the budget is tight, I would rather treat one area with enough product than spread the same amount thinly across three.

To get the figure for your own case, ask on WhatsApp what it would cost, naming the areas and any amount in cc you've already been told, with a photo if you have one. You'll then be comparing a number for your area and amount, which is the only number that helps.

Which filler methods suit which area?

The area usually decides the option, and the option sets the line on the price list. These are the hyaluronic acid choices on our menu:

Powder room with mirrors and amenities for patients
Powder room with mirrors and amenities for patients
  • Facial filler: for a specific area short on volume, a flat facial profile, or a flat chin.
  • Juvéderm: a hyaluronic acid filler approved by Korea's MFDS and the US FDA, with its own options for the face, earlobes and forehead.
  • Lip filler: can be paired with mouth-corner work, and the details are in our guide to how much lip filler costs in Korea.
  • Nose, under-eye, forehead and nasolabial fold filler: listed as their own treatments, so check you're reading the right line.

If you're looking at several areas together, our piece on filler by area for facial balancing shows how those areas relate.

The visit follows four steps on our treatment pages: one-to-one consultation, anesthetic cream, design, then the injection. An interpreter-assisted consultation comes first, and I plan and perform the treatment myself. Doctors in general inject with either a fine needle or a blunt cannula depending on the area, so it's reasonable to ask which will be used and why.

What filler reviews get right, and what they leave out

Public reviews are useful on one point: swelling and bruising are common, and they can look worse the next morning than they did leaving the clinic. That part matches what doctors tell patients.

A price quoted in a review is less reliable. Without the product, the area, the cc and whether VAT was counted, you can't tell what that figure bought. Treat it as a prompt for questions.

You'll also read that foreigners get a different price. I can only speak for our clinic, where foreign patients use the same list as Korean locals. Asking any clinic whether its list applies to everyone is a reasonable first question.

Then there are the claims about duration, from a few months to a couple of years. Each one describes a single person's product, area and metabolism. Results vary, and so does how long they last.

How long is recovery before you fly home?

Swelling, redness or bruising usually settles within days to a week or two, and bruises can take the longest. I'd leave several days between the injection and your flight, mostly so you're still in Seoul if something looks wrong.

Here is how that can look. Say you land on a Friday night. We're open 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM on Saturdays and Sundays and 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM on weekdays, one minute's walk from Myeongdong Station Exit 5, so a Saturday morning visit is possible if you confirm it when booking. Your parent can go back to a nearby hotel afterward without a long transfer.

For lip filler, our guidance is that you can start eating two to three hours after treatment. For the first day or two, doctors commonly suggest skipping alcohol, saunas, hard exercise and facial massage, because these can make swelling and bruising worse. Keep the first evening's plans light, and save the photo-heavy sightseeing for the end of the trip.

Before you leave, write down the product name, the areas and the amount in cc. The CDC's medical tourism guidance advises arranging follow-up care with a provider at home before you travel and carrying copies of your records. A doctor at home can act faster when they know what was injected and where.

Who should wait, and what if a reaction starts at home?

Most reactions are minor and short-lived, but a few need urgent care. The medical facts below apply to hyaluronic acid filler generally, and they matter more once you're far from the clinic that treated you.

Risks and side effects to know

The US FDA lists bruising, redness, swelling, pain, tenderness, itching and rash among the common effects. These usually fade over days. Lumps and asymmetry can also happen, and they may need a doctor's review.

The rare and serious risk is filler entering a blood vessel, which the FDA warns can cause skin damage, vision problems or stroke. This is why the injection is a medical procedure, whatever the price.

In general, these are reasons to wait or to skip it:

  • an infection, cold sore or inflamed skin at the injection site
  • a recent laser or peel on the same area
  • pregnancy or breastfeeding
  • an allergy to hyaluronic acid products or to local anesthetic
  • blood thinners or a bleeding disorder, which should be raised before anything is booked

If a reaction starts after you fly home, the urgency depends on the symptom. Sudden severe pain, skin turning pale or dusky, any change in vision, or weakness needs emergency care right away, and you should say that filler was injected and where. Increasing redness, warmth or a tender lump should go to a local doctor promptly, with the notes you carried home.

Those are the facts I'd want a family to have before deciding. To prepare, list any medicines, supplements, allergies and recent skin procedures, then send that on WhatsApp with your flight dates and ask whether the gap before flying looks long enough. Doing this early gives you time to move dates if you need to.

Four questions to ask before you agree to a number

Put simply, these work at any clinic, and they turn a price into something you can compare.

  1. 01Which product is it, and may I see the package?
  2. 02How many cc are in this figure, and for which area?
  3. 03Is VAT included, and is numbing part of the figure?
  4. 04Who performs the injection, and what happens to any leftover product?

Our own answers: the product is named in each option on our treatment pages, and prices exclude 10% VAT. I perform the treatment, and any remaining filler is discarded. Muse Clinic has 11 branches in Korea, and these answers are for the Myeongdong branch.

Your first message can be short. One photo is enough, with the one question on your mind, and you can ask what it would cost for your case on WhatsApp before booking anything. When you come in, you'll have a consultation with an interpreter beside you, then I'll examine the area and recommend the treatment that fits.

Questions people ask

Before you message us

Does the Korea acid filler price at Muse include VAT?

No. Prices on our pages exclude 10% VAT. The Juvéderm page lets you tick options and see an estimate with VAT added. That estimate is for reference, and the final plan and price are decided with the doctor at your consultation, once the area and amount are clear.

Do foreign patients pay more than Korean patients?

Not at our clinic. Foreign patients use the same price list as Korean locals, with no foreigner markup, and our menu prices are published on the site. If an option's name is unclear, ask which area and how many cc it covers before you compare it with anything else.

Does a filler injection hurt?

Anesthetic cream goes on before the injection, and the filler itself contains anesthetic, so it's less painful than people often expect. You'll probably still feel some pressure or pinching, and sensitivity differs from person to person and between areas of the face. Mention any anesthetic allergy before treatment.

Can leftover filler be saved for a later visit?

No. We don't do filler retouching, and any amount remaining after your treatment is discarded rather than stored. When you plan your budget, think about what will be used at this visit. If you may want more later, raise it during the consultation so you can plan for it.

How much time should I set aside for the appointment?

The injection itself takes about 10 minutes per 1cc on our facial filler page. The consultation, the anesthetic cream and the design step all come first, so allow more time than that. Confirm your appointment time when booking, particularly on a weekend, when we close at 3:00 PM.

Can I bring a parent who doesn't speak English or Korean?

English, Japanese and Chinese interpreters are in the clinic, and other languages can be arranged on request. Someone stays with you from consultation through treatment. If your parent needs another language, mention it when you first get in touch so it can be arranged ahead of the visit.

Results and maintenance period vary by individual. Every procedure carries the possibility of side effects, which are explained before you agree to treatment. Prices exclude 10% VAT and event prices may change. This article is general information from the clinic and is not a diagnosis; suitability is decided at the consultation.
