Skin Clinic in Seoul for Foreigners: How to Choose

How to choose a skin clinic in Seoul as a foreigner: same prices as locals, interpreters, who treats you, 10% VAT, weekend hours. Ask any clinic these questions.

In this article

Picking a skin clinic in Seoul as a visitor is harder than picking the treatment. The treatment names are the same everywhere: Botox, Pico toning, ultrasound lifting. What differs is who holds the needle, what you are charged compared with the Korean patient in the next chair, and whether anyone in the room can explain a side effect in your language. I run the Myeongdong branch of Muse Clinic, and I hear the same worries in almost every first consultation, so this guide answers them in the order visitors ask.

It covers foreigner pricing, interpreters, who treats you, VAT, weekend hours and the questions I would put to any Seoul skin clinic, including ours. It also lists what we do not do, because a guide that only sells is not a guide. The full price list is public on the treatments page if you want to check numbers while you read.

Do foreigners pay more at a skin clinic in Seoul?

Sometimes, yes. Some clinics keep a separate menu for visitors, or quote a number in the consultation room that is not written anywhere. The tell is simple: ask to see the same price list a Korean patient sees. If the answer is a verbal quote, the price is negotiable, and a negotiable price is also an inflatable one.

At Muse Clinic Myeongdong there is one list. Every treatment, every option and every number is published on the website, and it is the list a Korean patient pays from. Prices exclude 10% VAT, which is added at payment. Event prices run for a limited period and can change. That is the whole pricing story; there is no foreigner version of it.

Who actually treats you: the doctor you met, or someone else?

In Korea a doctor performs injections and energy-based treatments, but "a doctor" can mean a rotating junior you meet for the first time in the treatment room. Ask two things: who does the consultation, and is that the same person who does the treatment? The answer tells you how much the plan can drift between the two rooms.

Here the structured consultation comes first, with an interpreter, and it leads into one-to-one treatment planned and performed by the head doctor. That is me, Dr. Sarang Lim. I trained at Inje University College of Medicine with residency at Paik Medical Center, and I sit as an advisory doctor for Juvéderm, Galderma Sculptra, Merz and Jeisys, which means those companies train injectors here. All of it is on the doctor page rather than in a blog claim.

  • Ask: who consults, who treats, and are they the same person?
  • Ask: how many doctors work here, and which one will I see on my date?
  • Ask: can I see the product vial and the measured dose before it goes in?
  • At Muse, genuine products and correct dosage are the first motto: for injectables the vial is opened in front of you.

Interpreters: what "English-speaking clinic" should mean

"English OK" on a sign can mean a receptionist with a translation app. For a medical consultation you need someone who can carry a question like "will this bruise before my flight?" both ways without losing it. Ask whether the interpreter is in the clinic or on a phone, and whether they stay for the treatment itself or only for the consultation.

We have English, Japanese and Chinese interpreters on site, and other languages can be arranged on request. Someone stays with you from consultation through treatment, so you are never alone in a treatment room trying to describe a stinging sensation with hand gestures. One limit to know: there is no foreign-language phone support. Everything happens on WhatsApp or Instagram, in writing, which for most visitors is more useful anyway because the price and the plan are on record.

The checklist: what to ask any Seoul skin clinic before you book

Copy these into a message to every clinic you are considering. A good clinic answers all of them in writing without being offended. If an answer is missing, treat the silence as the answer.

What treatments cost: four examples from our list

Numbers tell you more than adjectives, so here are four treatments visitors book most often, pulled live from the list. Jaw Botox starts from ₩19,000 (excl. VAT) for a first-visit trial, and Ultherapy from ₩199,000 (excl. VAT) for a 100-shot trial session. Each treatment page shows every option above these anchors.

Prices exclude 10% VAT. Event prices run for a limited period and may change.

Two things change the final number: the option you choose (units, shots, product tier) and whether an event price is running on the day. Both are on the list before you arrive, so the consultation confirms rather than reveals. If jaw Botox is what brought you to Seoul, the masseter Botox guide walks through units and the timeline; for lifting, start with the Ulthera Lifting page.

What we do not do, so you decide with the full picture

Three honest gaps. We have not published before-and-after photos of patients yet, so the images on this site show the clinic and models, not outcomes. We have no phone line in English, Japanese or Chinese; contact is WhatsApp and Instagram only. And we do not quote a price that is not on the list, so if you have seen a lower number elsewhere, I will explain what ours includes rather than match it.

  • No patient before-and-after gallery yet. Ask in consultation and I will describe what typically changes, honestly.
  • No foreign-language phone support. WhatsApp and Instagram, in writing.
  • No off-list prices. The list is the price.
  • No treatment decided before the consultation. A photo helps me pre-plan, but the plan is confirmed in the room.

Where we are, when we are open, and how a weekend visit works

The clinic is on the 3rd floor of Korea Daeyungak Tower, 97 Toegye-ro, Jung-gu. That is a one-minute walk from Myeongdong Station Exit 5 on Line 4, and it is also close to Hoehyeon Station Exit 7, across from Shinsegae Department Store. At street level the building has a Twosome Place café and a Hana Bank, which is the easiest way to recognise it.

Hours are Monday to Friday 10:00–20:00 and Saturday to Sunday 09:00–15:00, with no regular closing day. If you drive, the parking tower in the same building charges ₩1,000 per 10 minutes with no base fee, weekdays until 18:30 and Saturdays until 12:00. Muse Clinic has 11 branches in Korea; this site and this guide are for the Myeongdong branch only.

Questions people ask

Before you message us

Do foreigners pay more at a skin clinic in Seoul?

At some clinics, yes: a separate visitor menu or a verbal quote in the consultation room. The way to check is to ask for the price list a Korean patient sees. At Muse Clinic Myeongdong there is one published list for everyone, with every option and every number on the website. Prices exclude 10% VAT, and event prices run for a limited period, so the treatment page always shows the current figure.

Do I need to speak Korean to visit a skin clinic in Seoul?

Not at Muse Clinic Myeongdong. English, Japanese and Chinese interpreters are in the clinic, other languages can be arranged on request, and someone stays with you from the consultation through the treatment. The one limit is the phone: there is no foreign-language phone line, so booking and questions happen on WhatsApp or Instagram, in writing.

Who will actually treat me, the doctor or a nurse?

Ask every clinic this directly. At Muse Clinic Myeongdong a structured consultation with an interpreter comes first, then the plan is carried out one to one by the head doctor, Dr. Sarang Lim. Her training and advisory roles are listed on the doctor page so you can check them rather than take a blog's word for it. For injectables the product and dose are shown to you before treatment.

Are Seoul skin clinic prices shown with or without VAT?

It varies by clinic, and it is worth asking before you compare numbers. Our list prices exclude 10% VAT, which is added when you pay, and this is stated next to the prices. A quote that looks cheaper elsewhere may simply be quoted without tax, or may be an event price that has already ended. Compare like with like: list price, tax status and what the option includes.

Can I visit a skin clinic in Seoul on a weekend?

Yes. Muse Clinic Myeongdong is open Saturday and Sunday 09:00–15:00 and Monday to Friday 10:00–20:00, with no regular closing day. The clinic is a one-minute walk from Myeongdong Station Exit 5, so a weekend slot between shopping is realistic. Message your dates on WhatsApp and we will suggest a time that leaves room for any bruising to settle before you fly.

How do I book from abroad?

Send a WhatsApp message with your dates, the treatment or concern, and a photo if you want a preliminary opinion. You get a written reply with the option we would suggest and the exact price from the list, and the appointment is confirmed in the same thread. Nothing is decided until the consultation in the clinic, so the message is a plan, not a commitment.

Results and maintenance period vary by individual. Every procedure carries the possibility of side effects, which are explained before you agree to treatment. Prices exclude 10% VAT and event prices may change. This article is general information from the clinic and is not a diagnosis; suitability is decided at the consultation.
