Korean skin treatment is a search that covers about forty different things at once. People arrive in Seoul wanting clearer tone, smaller pores, a tighter jawline and that glassy finish they saw online, and they expect one magic appointment to do all of it. It does not work like that, but the good news is that each of those concerns has a specific, inexpensive, same-day option here.
I am the head doctor at Muse Clinic Myeongdong, one minute from Myeongdong Station Exit 5, and most of my day is spent deciding which Korean skin treatment a visitor should actually spend their trip on. On our list, pico laser toning starts from ₩39,000 and Shurink Universe HIFU from ₩41,000 for 100 shots, both excluding 10% VAT. Below is how I sort the options by concern, what each one feels like, and how to fit them around a short trip.
Why people fly in for a Korean skin treatment
Two reasons, and neither is mysterious. First, price: a single toning laser session here costs what a consultation alone costs in many countries, because so many clinics compete on the same few streets. Second, the format: Korean clinics treat skin as maintenance, in short frequent visits, rather than as one dramatic intervention.
That is why a Seoul appointment is realistic on a shopping trip. You are in the chair for 20 to 60 minutes, not booked out for a week of recovery. Visitors often do two visits in four days and go home with a plan for the next trip.
- Single sessions are priced so you can try one before committing to a course
- Weekend hours (Sat–Sun 09:00–15:00) fit around a tourist schedule
- Interpreters mean the consultation is a conversation, not a sign-here form
- The whole price list is public, so you can compare before you fly
- Most options leave nothing visible except slight pinkness for a few hours
The four Korean skin treatments visitors book most
1. Pico laser toning — for pigmentation, dull tone, freckles
This is the workhorse of Korean laser skin treatment. Very short laser pulses break up melanin in the epidermis and deeper layers while sparing the surrounding skin; the 755nm wavelength is used for Picosure toning and 1064nm for Picoplus toning. Each pulse lasts a trillionth of a second, which is what keeps heat damage down.
When I would choose it: melasma, freckles, post-acne marks, or skin that simply reads grey in photos. It also helps with acne scars, fine lines and firmness over a course. Our options run from a single session with a modelling pack up to Bespoke and Penta Toning packages of 5, 9 or 10 sessions — see the pico laser toning page for every version, and our post on korean laser skin treatment price for how the laser menu compares.

2. Shurink Universe HIFU — for a softening jawline
If the thing you dislike is the line of your jaw rather than the colour of your skin, lasers are the wrong tool. Shurink Universe sends focused ultrasound deep enough to create thermal coagulation points under the skin, so the tissue contracts and rebuilds collagen over the following weeks. Two handpieces and four modes (Booster, F, MP, Dot) let the depth be matched to the area, including small curved zones.
When I would choose it: sagging along the cheek and jaw, wrinkles from ageing, or someone who wants something firmer than a basic ultrasound session. The visit is cleansing, numbing cream, gel, the ultrasound pass, then finishing. If you want the full detail there is a dedicated write-up on Shurink Universe HIFU lifting.
3. Potenza RF microneedling — for pores and acne scars
Microneedles reach the dermis and release radiofrequency energy there for an instant, so the surface is largely spared while the layer that holds texture is stimulated. It is what I use for enlarged pores, atrophic acne scars and generally rough texture. With numbing cream, allow about an hour from preparation to aftercare.
When I would choose it: you have treated the acne itself and are left with the dents and craters. Potenza is often paired with a booster in the same sitting so the skin absorbs it through the channels. People booking it for scars usually also read about textured skin treatment in Seoul.
4. Skin vive — for dryness and rough skin surface
This is the "glass skin" end of the menu. Skin vive is an FDA-approved hyaluronic acid preparation injected into the skin of the cheeks to improve fine wrinkles and surface quality. Hyaluronic acid in the skin falls with age; putting it back where it belongs makes the surface sit smoother and reflect light more evenly.
When I would choose it: rough texture, a face that goes dry by lunchtime, a weak barrier with flushing, or a wedding in six weeks. It is a 1cc or 2cc session, and a cannula option is available if you prefer fewer entry points.
Comparing the options side by side
| Treatment | Main concern | How it feels | When it shows | Price anchor (excl. VAT) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Pico laser toning | Pigmentation, dull tone, freckles | Light pinprick snaps, warm afterwards | Tone lifts over 1–2 weeks; pigment over a course | from ₩39,000 |
| Shurink Universe HIFU | Loose jawline, sagging cheeks | Deep tingling pulses under numbing cream | Gradual firming over 2–3 months | from ₩41,000 |
| Potenza RF microneedling | Pores, acne scars, texture | Pressure and heat; pink for a day or two | Texture improves over weeks, builds with sessions | from ₩159,000 |
| Skin vive | Dryness, rough surface, fine lines | Small injections across the cheeks | Smoother surface within 1–2 weeks | from ₩220,000 |
Korean skin treatment price: what you actually pay
Here are the live numbers for the four treatments above. The same list a Korean patient reads is the list you read; there is no separate foreigner menu, and every option in every category is published on the full treatments page. Prices exclude 10% VAT.

- Skin Vive 1cc₩220,000
Prices exclude 10% VAT. Event prices run for a limited period and can change — the treatment page shows the current number.
What moves the final figure is simple: how many sessions, how many shots, how many cc, and whether a modelling pack, LED care or a booster is bundled in. A 100-shot HIFU session treats a defined area; 1,000 shots covers the full face and neck properly. Ten toning sessions cost more up front and less per visit than buying ten singles.
- Shots or cc, not "the whole face", is what you are buying
- Package prices assume you will come back — useful if you visit Seoul often
- Add-ons (modelling pack, LED, booster) are listed separately so you can decline them
- VAT of 10% is added at payment on top of the listed number
- Event prices are time-limited; ask us to confirm before you plan around one
How the visit works, and how it fits a short trip
Searches like "advanced korean skin" programmes make it sound complicated. The visit itself is not. An interpreter meets you at reception, a structured consultation comes first, then the head doctor plans and performs the treatment one to one.
- 01Message us on WhatsApp with dates and concerns; we hold a slot.
- 02Arrive at the 3rd floor, Korea Daeyungak Tower — one minute from Myeongdong Station Exit 5.
- 03Consultation with an interpreter: your concerns, your history, what is realistic in the time you have.
- 04I examine the skin and confirm the plan, the number of sessions and the price before anything starts.
- 05Treatment: 20–60 minutes depending on what you booked, numbing cream where it is needed.
- 06Aftercare instructions in your language, written down, plus sunscreen advice for the rest of the trip.

| Trip day | What I would book | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Day 1 | Consultation + pico laser toning, or RF microneedling | Anything that leaves the skin pink has time to settle before you fly |
| Day 2 | Rest the skin: sunscreen, no scrubs, no sauna | Heat and friction are what turn a good result into irritation |
| Day 3 | HIFU lifting and/or a skin booster | Both are fine to do with makeup the next morning |
| Day 4 | Fly home | Firming and pigment results keep developing after you land |

Honest limits and possible side effects
Every treatment on this page can have side effects, and you should hear them before you agree to anything. Lasers can leave redness, temporary darkening of a pigment spot before it clears, or crusting at a treated point. Ultrasound lifting can leave tenderness or mild swelling for a few days. Microneedling leaves the skin pink and sensitive; injections can bruise or bump at an entry point.
The limits matter too. Pigmentation driven by melasma tends to recur with sun and hormones, so a course and daily sunscreen do more than one strong session. Ultrasound tightens skin; it does not remove fat or change bone. Results and how long they last vary from person to person, which is why I would rather give you a plan over two trips than oversell one afternoon.
Why visitors book their Korean skin treatment at Muse Myeongdong
Three things, written down rather than promised. One price list: the numbers you pay are the numbers a Korean patient pays, published in full on the website, VAT excluded. Interpreters on site in English, Japanese and Chinese, with other languages arranged on request. The head doctor consults and treats: after the structured consultation, the plan is made and carried out one to one by Dr. Sarang Lim.
Practical details for planning: we are on the 3rd floor of Korea Daeyungak Tower, 97 Toegye-ro, with a Twosome Place café and Hana Bank at street level, one minute from Myeongdong Station Exit 5 and near Hoehyeon Station Exit 7 across from Shinsegae. Open Monday to Friday 10:00–20:00 and Saturday to Sunday 09:00–15:00. Parking in the same building is ₩1,000 per 10 minutes with no base fee.
Genuine products and correct dosage, shown to you before use, is the clinic's first motto — for a toning laser that means the device settings explained, and for an injection it means the vial opened in front of you. Readers who typed "advance korean skin" treatment into a search bar are usually looking for exactly that: not a longer menu, but someone who tells them which two items on it are worth their trip.

Questions people ask
Before you message us
What is the most popular Korean skin treatment for tourists?
For short trips the two most booked at our Myeongdong clinic are pico laser toning for pigmentation and dull tone, and Shurink Universe HIFU for a looser jawline. Both are done in one visit with nothing to hide afterwards. Skin boosters like Skin vive come next, usually added on for dryness and rough texture. Which one suits you depends on your main concern, and results vary from person to person.
How much does a Korean skin treatment cost in Seoul?
On our published list, pico laser toning starts from ₩39,000 and Shurink Universe HIFU from ₩41,000 for 100 shots, both excluding 10% VAT. Potenza RF microneedling starts from ₩159,000 and Skin vive from ₩220,000. Packages of 5 or 10 sessions cost more per visit but less per session. The full korean skin treatment price list, with every option, is on the treatments page.
Can I do a Korean skin treatment on a 3 or 4 day trip?
Yes, and most visitors do. Laser toning and HIFU take under an hour including preparation, and you can walk back into Myeongdong the same afternoon with sunscreen on. Treatments that leave the skin pink for a day or two, such as RF microneedling, are better placed at the start of the trip. Tell us your dates and we will order the visits sensibly.
Do foreigners pay more for skin treatments in Korea?
At Muse Clinic Myeongdong you pay the same numbers a Korean patient pays. There is no separate foreigner menu, and the full price list is published on the website so you can check before you arrive. Prices exclude 10% VAT, and event prices run for a limited period, so the treatment page always shows the current figure.
Is there an English interpreter at the clinic?
Yes. English, Japanese and Chinese interpreters are in the clinic, and other languages can be arranged on request. Someone stays with you from the consultation through the treatment, so the plan, the aftercare and the price are all explained in your own language rather than guessed at from a translation app.
How many sessions of Korean laser skin treatment do I need?
Pigmentation rarely clears in one pass, which is why our toning options come as single sessions, 5 sessions and 10 sessions. Visitors on one trip usually do one or two sessions a few days apart and continue at home or on the next trip. Texture and firmness treatments follow the same logic: one visit shows a change, a short course holds it. Results and how long they last vary from person to person.
Results and maintenance period vary by individual. Every procedure carries the possibility of side effects, which are explained before you agree to treatment. Prices exclude 10% VAT and event prices may change. This article is general information from the clinic and is not a diagnosis; suitability is decided at the consultation.
