Ultherapy is the lifting treatment visitors ask me about by name, usually with a screenshot of a Singapore or US quote and the question "is it really cheaper in Seoul?" It is micro-focused ultrasound: the device heats small points in the layer under the skin so the tissue contracts and builds collagen over the next few months. The jawline, jowls, brow and neck tighten without a cut.
At Muse Clinic Myeongdong the Ulthera Lifting list starts at from ₩199,000 (excl. 10% VAT) for a 100-shot trial session on the genuine Ultherapy device with official tips. Below is what a shot is, who it suits, what changes the price, how the session feels, and the honest recovery timeline, so you can decide before you message us.
Who Ultherapy is for (and who I would steer elsewhere)
Our list describes the typical patient as someone concerned about saggy skin, someone who wants to tighten loosened fat under the jaw, someone who wants a natural lifting effect, and someone who wants a non-surgical option. In practice that is the visitor who sees early jowls and a softening jawline in photos and does not want a filler-heavy face.
Ultherapy heats deep, so it is not the tool for every face. A very thin face with little fat can look more hollow after aggressive deep treatment, and I say so rather than sell shots. Pure surface texture, pigmentation or fine crepe lines are better served by other treatments. If your main complaint is heaviness from a bulky jaw muscle, read the masseter Botox post first; it is a different problem.
- Early jowls, a softening jawline or a double chin with some skin laxity
- Brow or upper eyelid heaviness where a small lift changes the eye shape
- Wanting a one-session treatment with no cuts and little visible downtime
- Not a match: a very thin face, active skin infection in the area, or a concern that is mainly pigment or texture
What an Ultherapy shot is, and what 100, 300 or 900 shots cover
A shot is one line of focused ultrasound energy delivered under the skin. The transducer tip sets the depth: the deepest reaches the SMAS, the layer surgeons tighten in a facelift; the shallower depths treat the dermis. More shots means more area and more depths, which is why the shot count is the main thing that moves the price.
Ultherapy shows the tissue layers on a screen while I treat, so each line goes where the laxity actually is instead of on a fixed grid. Genuine tips carry a limited number of lines and are recognised by the device, which is why our list states "authentic Ultherapy, official tips"; you can check the tip packaging before the session. The rule of thumb below is a starting point; the count is confirmed after I examine your skin thickness.
| Shots | Typical coverage | Who usually chooses it |
|---|---|---|
| 100 | One zone, one depth: e.g. under the chin, or one side of the jawline | First-time visitors testing the sensation and the result on a small area |
| 200–300 | Lower face or both cheeks, usually at two depths | Early jowls and jawline softening; the Double Chin Package is built around 200 shots |
| 600 | Full face at more than one depth | Visible laxity across cheeks, jawline and under the chin |
| 900 | Full face and neck at multiple depths | Laxity that continues into the neck, or a first session planned as the only one for a while |
How Ultherapy works at Muse: the under-30-minute visit
A structured consultation with an interpreter comes first, then the plan is carried out one to one by the head doctor. The steps on our list are: one-to-one consultation, self face wash, the treatment, then a modelling facial mask and sunblock. The treatment itself takes less than 30 minutes; with numbing and the mask, allow about an hour and a half in the clinic.
- 01Consultation: I check skin thickness, where the laxity sits and any fat under the chin, then mark the zones and agree the shot count and the add-on.
- 02Self face wash, then numbing cream over the marked zones while it takes effect.
- 03Tip check: you see the official Ultherapy tip before it is opened.
- 04Treatment: lines of ultrasound delivered zone by zone while I watch the tissue layers on screen. Under 30 minutes.
- 05Modelling facial mask to cool the skin, then sunblock. You walk out and back into Myeongdong.

Ultherapy price in Seoul: options and what changes the number
The price on our list moves with two things: the shot count (100, 200, 300, 600 or 900) and whether the eye area is added (Eye Ultherapy is a separate 100-shot block). The 300-shot sessions and up include one add-on of your choice: two tightening injections, domestic Dermotoxin, Baekok (glutathione), or a 10cc Gold Accu contour injection. Every number is the same one a Korean patient sees, and prices exclude 10% VAT.
- [Limited to KakaoTalk Friends Exclusive 1-Time Trial] Ultherapy 100 Shots 1 Session₩199,000
- Ultherapy 300 Shots₩750,000
- Ultherapy 600 Shots₩1,550,000
- Ultherapy 300 Shots + Eye Ultherapy 100 Shots₩1,100,000
- See all 9 options →
Prices exclude 10% VAT. Event prices run for a limited period and may change; the 100-shot trial is a first-visit offer.
If the sag you dislike is mainly under the chin, the Double Chin Package pairs 200 shots with a 10cc Gold Accu injection and two tightening injections in one sitting, which targets the fat and the skin together. If you want a lighter, lower-cost ultrasound first, Shurink Universe is the Korean HIFU on our list from ₩41,000 (excl. VAT); I tell visitors which of the two I would pick for their face rather than default to the pricier one.
Ultherapy recovery: the honest timeline
Visitors often fly home a day or two after the session and expect to see the lift in the airport mirror. What they see is mild swelling. The lift arrives on the collagen schedule, not the flight schedule. Here is the sequence I describe at every consultation. Results and how long they last vary from person to person.
| When | What you notice |
|---|---|
| Day 0 | Redness for a few hours, a warm and slightly puffy feeling, some tightness. |
| Days 1–3 | Tenderness when you press along the treated lines, possibly a bruised feeling at the jawline. Swelling settles. |
| Weeks 1–2 | The tenderness fades. Some people feel a patch of tingling or numbness; it passes. Little visible change yet. |
| Months 2–3 | New collagen has built. The jawline reads sharper in photos and the skin under the chin sits closer. This is the point to judge the result. |
| Months 3–6 and beyond | Change continues toward month 6, then holds as ageing continues. Many people consider a repeat after a year or more. |
Ultherapy side effects and the part clinics skip
Ultherapy is a routine treatment, but every procedure carries the possibility of side effects, and you should hear them before you agree. The common ones are redness, mild swelling and a tender or bruised feeling along the treated lines for days to a couple of weeks. The one people do not expect is the sensation during the session: each shot is a deep, hot prick, sharpest over bone.
- Redness and mild swelling: hours to a few days.
- Tenderness or a bruised feeling along the treated lines: days to two weeks.
- Small raised welts along a line: uncommon, settle on their own within days.
- Numbness or tingling in a patch of skin: uncommon, fades over weeks.
- Temporary weakness of a facial muscle from an irritated nerve: rare, and the reason depth and zones are planned by a doctor watching the screen, not by a fixed template.

Interpreters in the clinic, in English, Japanese and Chinese, who stay with you from consultation through treatment. Questions people ask
Before you message us
How much is Ultherapy in Korea?
At Muse Clinic Myeongdong the Ultherapy list starts at ₩199,000 for a 100-shot first-visit trial session. The 300-shot session is ₩750,000, 600 shots ₩1,550,000 and 900 shots ₩2,290,000, each with one add-on included. All prices exclude 10% VAT and are the same list a Korean patient pays. Event prices run for a limited period, so the treatment page shows the current numbers.
What is Ultherapy and how is it different from other HIFU?
Ultherapy is micro-focused ultrasound that heats small points in the layer under the skin, including the SMAS, so the tissue contracts and builds collagen over the following months. The device lets the doctor see the tissue layers on a screen while treating, which is the main technical difference from many Korean HIFU devices. We use the genuine Ultherapy device with official tips, and you can check the tip before the session.
How many Ultherapy shots do I need?
A shot is one line of ultrasound energy, so the number sets how much area and how many depths are covered. As a rule of thumb, 100 shots treats a single zone, 300 covers the lower face or cheeks, and 600 to 900 covers the full face and neck at more than one depth. The count is confirmed after I examine skin thickness and where the laxity sits, not from a photo alone.
Does Ultherapy hurt?
It is the most uncomfortable of the lifting treatments we offer, and I say that in every consultation. Each shot feels like a deep, hot prick that fades in a second; the bone areas such as the jawline are the sharpest. The session itself is under 30 minutes. Numbing cream and pacing the shots keep it tolerable, and the sensation stops when the last shot is delivered.
What are the side effects of Ultherapy?
Common: redness for a few hours, mild swelling and a tender or bruised feeling along the treated lines for days to a couple of weeks. Less common: small welts that settle, numbness or tingling in a patch of skin that fades over weeks, and rarely a temporary weakness of a facial muscle where a nerve was irritated. Results and how long they last vary from person to person, and so does the recovery.
When will I see Ultherapy results and how long do they last?
Some tightness shows on the day, but the visible lift comes from new collagen and takes about 2 to 3 months to build, with change continuing toward month 6. Most people plan one session and consider repeating after a year or more as ageing continues. Your own timing depends on age, skin thickness and sun exposure, so I give a personal estimate at the consultation rather than a fixed promise.
Results and maintenance period vary by individual. Every procedure carries the possibility of side effects, which are explained before you agree to treatment. Prices exclude 10% VAT and event prices may change. This article is general information from the clinic and is not a diagnosis; suitability is decided at the consultation.
