The question I get before anyone asks the price is always the same: will this leave a mole removal scar on my face? It is a fair worry. A mole is taken away as tissue, so a mole removal scar of some kind — usually a small pink dot rather than a raised line — is on the table at every point we treat. How that dot ends up looking depends less on the laser than on the depth of the mole and on what you do during the ten days after.

At Muse Clinic Myeongdong we do mole removal on facial moles and milia with a CO2 laser, one point at a time, and the mole removal list starts from ₩10,000 (excl. 10% VAT) for one small point. This article covers who mole removal suits, what changes the cost, the healing stages day by day, and the aftercare that decides whether your mole removal scar fades cleanly or turns stubborn.

Does mole removal scar? The honest answer

The CO2 mole removal method works by vaporising the pigmented tissue in a controlled way, and the settings are chosen to keep damage to the skin around each point small. That is the reason we work dot by dot instead of treating a whole area: less heat spreading sideways means a smaller mark to heal.

What you can expect is a shallow crater that fills in with a crust, then flat pink skin, then a mark that keeps fading. A raised or pale long-lasting mole removal scar is uncommon on facial points, but it becomes more likely with deep moles, with moles that have been scratched or removed before, and with skin that darkens easily after any irritation. Results and how long they last vary from person to person, and I would rather say that at the consultation than have you find out later.

Who CO2 laser mole removal suits

This is cosmetic mole removal for raised or pigmented facial points. It is the right tool if the thing bothering you sits up off the skin, or is a distinct dark dot you can put a fingertip on. Our list recommends it in four situations:

  • You have deep points, or many points, on the face and want them cleared properly
  • You want the risk of pigmentation after removal kept as low as possible
  • You want follow-up care after the points are removed, not just the zap
  • You want a visible change at a reasonable price rather than a package you did not ask for

Two limits to know before you book. First, we treat the face area only, so body moles are not on this menu. Second, if what you dislike is flat brown pigment spread across the cheeks rather than a defined point, a toning laser such as Pico Laser Toning is the better fit — the CO2 point method is for discrete lesions. If a mole needs assessment beyond cosmetic removal, I will say so at the consultation instead of treating it.

How mole removal works at Muse: the 10–20 minute visit

A structured consultation with an interpreter comes first, then the head doctor plans and performs the treatment one to one. The mole removal itself is short — 10 to 20 minutes for a typical set of facial points — and you can go back to daily life the same day with the points dressed.

  1. 01Consultation: we look at each point in bright light, count them, and agree on size category and which ones to treat this visit.
  2. 02Numbing cream on the treatment area while you wait.
  3. 03CO2 laser, point by point, with the settings adjusted to the depth of each mole.
  4. 04Ointment and small dressings over the treated points, plus the aftercare instructions in your language.
  5. 05You walk out into Myeongdong. The crusts do the rest of the work over the next week.

Mole removal cost in Seoul: what changes the number

Two things move the price. The size of each point — small, medium or large, because a bigger or deeper mole takes more laser work and more careful layering. And how many points you clear at once: there are CO2 laser options priced for 10, 20 and 30 points, which is what most visitors with a scatter of small facial dots end up choosing.

Mole Removerfrom ₩10,000
  • C02 Laser (Mole/Milia Removal ) 10 points₩80,000
  • C02 Laser (Mole/Milia Removal ) 20 points₩140,000
  • C02 Laser (Mole/Milia Removal ) 30 points₩180,000
  • Mole Remove(small)₩10,000

Point packages do not include retouch. Prices exclude 10% VAT and are the same list Korean patients see.

General facial dots are usually treated as the small size, but the honest answer is that sizing on the mole removal list is confirmed after we look at your face, not from a photo estimate. The whole list, every option and every number, is published on the treatments page so you can compare before you fly.

Mole removal healing stages, day by day

This is the part most people search for after they have already booked. Plan your trip around it: the awkward window is the first week, not the day of treatment.

Typical healing sequence after CO2 laser mole removal (face)
WhenWhat you see and do
Day 0Small dressings over each point. Mild stinging fades within hours. Ointment as instructed; makeup off the points.
Days 1–3A dark crust forms and sits slightly below the skin. Keep it covered. A short lukewarm shower is fine; no scrubbing.
Days 4–10Crusts loosen and fall off on their own, one by one. Do not help them. Fresh pink skin underneath.
Weeks 2–6Pink flat marks. Sunscreen every day matters most here — this is when a mark can darken instead of fade.
Months 2–6Marks keep fading toward your normal tone. A retouch on a deep point can be considered from one month after the first session.

Aftercare that decides your mole removal scar

Nothing here is complicated, and all of it matters more than the device brand. Each treated point is an open wound in miniature for a few days, and the two enemies of a clean mole removal scar are friction and ultraviolet light.

  • Leave every crust alone until it releases by itself — no picking, no exfoliating, no cleansing brush.
  • Apply the ointment you are given so the points stay moist rather than drying hard.
  • Lukewarm showers from the next day; no sauna, jjimjilbang, pool or long hot bath until the crusts are off.
  • Restart exercise gently after the first few days — heavy sweat lifts crusts early.
  • Daily sunscreen on the marks for at least a few months, reapplied if you are outside all day.
  • Makeup can go back over the area once the crusts have come off, not before.

Risks, retouch and what I tell you before we start

Mole removal is a routine, short procedure, but every procedure carries the possibility of side effects and you should hear them before you agree rather than after.

  • Temporary redness and a small depression at the point while it fills in.
  • Darkening of the mark after healing, most often in skin that tans easily or when sun exposure was not controlled.
  • A pale or slightly textured mole removal scar where a deep mole was, which is the trade-off for removing depth.
  • Regrowth of pigment at a deep point, which is why a second pass can be planned from one month later.
  • Infection risk if crusts are picked off early with unwashed hands.

On depth, I would rather do one careful session and review a deep point later than push the laser far enough in a single sitting to leave a crater. If you are on a short trip, tell me — the plan for someone flying out in three days is different from the plan for someone living in Seoul, and that difference is discussed openly at the consultation with me.

Why visitors book mole removal in Korea at Muse

Three things we put in writing instead of promising. One price list, identical to the Korean price — there is no separate foreigner menu, and prices exclude 10% VAT. Interpreters in the clinic in English, Japanese and Chinese, with other languages arranged on request, who stay with you from consultation through treatment. The head doctor consults and treats, so the person who counted your points is the person holding the laser.

Practical trip details: we are a one-minute walk from Myeongdong Station Exit 5 on Line 4, also near Hoehyeon Station Exit 7 across from Shinsegae Department Store, on the 3rd floor of the Korea Daeyungak Tower — the building with a Twosome Place café and Hana Bank at street level. Open Monday to Friday 10:00–20:00 and Saturday to Sunday 09:00–15:00, so a weekend appointment between shopping days is realistic. The parking tower in the same building is ₩1,000 per 10 minutes with no base fee.

If the bumps you want gone are the tiny white ones around the eyes rather than brown moles, read how we treat milia under the eyes first — same CO2 laser, different planning. And if flat pigment is the bigger issue, Laser Toning is the line on the list to look at.

Questions people ask

Before you message us

Does a mole removal scar go away?

After a CO2 laser point heals, most people are left with a small pink or slightly pale mark rather than a raised mole removal scar. That mark usually keeps fading over several months as the skin finishes remodelling. Two things push it the other way: picking the crust off early and letting the fresh mark tan. Results and how long they last vary from person to person, so I check your skin and the depth of each mole before promising anything about the final mark.

How much does mole removal cost in Korea?

At Muse Clinic Myeongdong the mole removal list starts from ₩10,000 (excl. 10% VAT) for one small facial point, with medium and large points priced higher because they need more laser work. If you want many points cleared in one sitting, there are 10-, 20- and 30-point CO2 laser options on the treatment page. Retouch is not included in those point packages. The numbers you see are the same list a Korean patient is charged.

Can I shower after mole removal?

A short, lukewarm shower the next day is usually fine, but keep the points out of the direct stream, do not soak or scrub them, and pat the area dry instead of rubbing. Skip saunas, jjimjilbang, swimming pools and long hot baths until the crusts have come off by themselves. Keep the ointment and dressing routine the clinic gives you going through that period.

How long do the mole removal healing stages take?

A thin crust forms over each point within a day or two, and most facial crusts lift off on their own somewhere around day 7 to 10. Underneath is pink, flat skin that fades gradually over the following weeks to months. The procedure itself takes 10 to 20 minutes and you can go back to daily life the same day. Deeper or larger moles crust for longer, and healing speed differs between people.

Can I exercise after mole removal?

Wait until the sweating and flushing stage passes, usually the first two to three days, then restart gently. Heavy sweat softens the crust and makes it come off early, which is exactly what you want to avoid if you care about the final mole removal scar. Gym machines, hot yoga and outdoor running in strong sun are the three I ask patients to postpone until the crusts are gone.

Can I get mole removal done on a short trip to Seoul?

Yes, and most of our visitors do. Book early in the trip so the crusts are already lifting when you fly home, and plan for a week or so of small dark dots on the face in your photos. Note that we treat the face area only. We are open Monday to Friday 10:00–20:00 and Saturday to Sunday 09:00–15:00, one minute from Myeongdong Station Exit 5.

Results and maintenance period vary by individual. Every procedure carries the possibility of side effects, which are explained before you agree to treatment. Prices exclude 10% VAT and event prices may change. This article is general information from the clinic and is not a diagnosis; suitability is decided at the consultation.
