Korean Acne Treatment: What a Seoul Clinic Does

Korean acne treatment is not a bottle. When people search it, they usually picture a face wash or a spot patch, then arrive in Seoul and discover that a clinic does something different: a clinician extracts what is blocking the pore, a laser is aimed at the oil gland underneath, and a doctor writes a prescription if the skin needs one. Those three things address three different parts of the same problem.

What Korean acne treatment includes at a clinic

Acne has a mechanical part and a biological part. The mechanical part is a pore plugged with sebum and dead skin. The biological part is a sebaceous gland producing more oil than the pore can drain, plus the bacteria and inflammation that follow. Korean acne treatment in a dermatology clinic splits along those lines.

• Extraction and scaling — the plug is removed after disinfection, so the lesion is not sitting there feeding inflammation.
• Inflammatory injection — a direct injection into a large, painful, raised spot, priced by points on our list.
• Capri laser — energy delivered to the sebaceous gland so the source of the oil is treated, not just the surface.
• Peels — surface exfoliation for the mixed picture of clogged pores, dull texture and leftover pigment.

Most plans use two or three of these in the same visit. A first-visit Capri option, for example, comes with a modeling mask to settle the skin afterwards, and the packaged versions bundle a peel or Tesla therapy plus a one-week acne prescription.

Who this suits, and who should wait

Our Capri list is written for four groups: teen acne, adult acne, people worried about acne scars forming, and people who have tried extractions alone and found the spots keep returning. That last group is the one I see most often in Myeongdong — squeezing at home cleared the surface but nothing changed underneath.

• Recurring inflammatory acne on the cheeks, jaw or forehead
• Oily skin where pores refill within days of a facial
• Blackheads across the nose and chin that come back every month
• Back or chest breakouts — body scaling is on the same list
• Not the right week: skin that is raw, sunburnt or mid-peel from another strong treatment

Extractions, scaling and the spot injection

Scaling is the unglamorous foundation. The skin is disinfected, then sebum and plugs are removed by a clinician rather than by you over a bathroom mirror. The inflammatory injection is the closest thing we have to a korean acne spot treatment that works within a day or two. It goes into one to five raised, painful lesions. The lump flattens faster than it would on its own, which is why people book it the day before a wedding or a flight. It does nothing for the rest of the face, so it is not a plan by itself.

Capri laser: treating the gland, not the surface

This is the part a face wash cannot reach. The sebaceous gland sits at the base of the follicle and decides how much oil the pore has to handle. Capri Laser delivers energy to that gland so it is selectively targeted, and our list is direct about the aim: address the root cause rather than the plug you can see.

Practically, it is a short visit and you go back to daily life the same day. It is used across different types of acne, and our list also notes improvement in pores and skin elasticity as the skin settles. It is sold in single sessions, 3-session and 5-session blocks, for a part of the face or the full face.

If your main complaint is clogged, rough, uneven skin rather than active inflammation, Aladdin Peeling is the other route. It is a strong peel for the mixed picture of pigment, trouble, pores and dead skin, and keratin shedding is most active around days 3–5, so plan it away from an important evening.

Prescriptions: the part visitors skip and then regret

A laser session treats the skin you have today. Medication changes what happens over the next several weeks, which matters if you are flying home on Sunday. We prescribe acne medication individually after consultation with the head doctor, and the medicine itself is paid at the pharmacy rather than at the clinic.

This is also the honest answer to the "one day acne treatment in Korea" question. One day can calm what is on your face now. Only continued treatment changes how much appears next month.

Korean acne treatment price: the list and what moves it

Three things move the final number: area (part of the face versus full face), session count (1, 3 or 5 blocks cost less per session), and what is bundled (a peel, Tesla therapy, Gold PTT or a modeling pack in the same visit). Prescription medicine is separate and paid at the pharmacy.

What to expect, visit by visit

You start with a structured consultation with an interpreter, then the head doctor examines the skin and sets the plan. Results and how long they last vary from person to person, but this is the sequence I describe at the consultation.

Risks, and the parts we say out loud

Every procedure can have side effects, and you should hear them before you agree to anything. After extractions, the treated spots can look worse for a day before they look better. Laser sessions leave redness and sometimes mild dryness or flaking. A strong peel deliberately causes shedding for several days.

• Temporary redness, warmth or tightness for a few hours to a few days
• Dark or red marks where an inflamed lesion has healed — these fade on their own timeline
• Dryness or flaking while oil production drops
• A peel that sheds more or less than expected, depending on how thick your surface layer is
• Medication side effects, which the doctor goes through with you before prescribing
