I am Dr. Sarang Lim, head doctor at Muse Clinic Myeongdong — a graduate of Inje University College of Medicine, residency training at Paik Medical Center, member of the Korean Academy of Aesthetic Plastic & Laser Medicine, advisory doctor for Jeisys and a Cynosure certified laser centre — and how to get rid of enlarged pores is the question I answer most often at a first consultation, usually from someone who has already bought three products for it. The honest answer is this: you cannot remove a pore, but you can make it look narrower by treating the three things that stretch it — sebum packed inside the opening, weak collagen around its wall, and inflammation that keeps coming back.
So I treat enlarged pores in two layers. Clear the opening, then firm the wall. On our published list the tools for that run from ₩29,000 (excl. 10% VAT) for an Aqua Peeling trial to ₩159,000 (excl. VAT) for Potenza, and below I explain which one I reach for and why.
Why pores look enlarged in the first place
A pore is the opening of a hair follicle with an oil gland attached. It becomes visible when it is either filled or stretched. Filled is a surface problem and moves quickly. Stretched is a structural problem in the dermis and moves slowly.
- Sebum and dead skin pack the opening, so it casts a shadow and reads as a dot.
- Repeated acne inflammation damages the wall of the follicle, and it never springs back to its old diameter.
- Collagen and elastin around the opening thin with age and sun exposure, so the pore sags into a teardrop shape — most obvious on the cheeks.
- Oily skin types simply have larger glands; this part is genetic and sets your baseline.
- Picking, squeezing and strong suction widen the opening while they empty it.
That list is why one treatment rarely fixes everything. If your pores are clogged, a deep cleansing treatment changes your face in 40 minutes. If they are stretched, nothing on the surface will reach the layer that holds them open. Results and how long they last vary from person to person.
Korean pore minimizer products: what they can and cannot do
Almost everyone searches for a best korean pore minimizer long before they search for a clinic, and I do not argue with that. A good korean pore cleansing routine is cheap, it is on every shelf between Myeongdong Station and Shinsegae, and it genuinely handles the surface half of the problem.
- Cleansing: oil first, then foam. A Seoul Skin pore cleansing oil melts sebum, and a Seoul Skin heartleaf pore deep cleansing foam takes the residue off — this keeps the opening from refilling.
- Exfoliating: a Seoul Skin zero pore pad, or any BHA pad, thins the plug at the top. Two or three times a week helps; every day usually irritates.
- Makeup: a korean pore minimizer primer fills the dent optically for one day. It is the fastest visible change money can buy, and it washes off at night.
- Marketing: a korean pore remover or korean pore cleaner is usually a suction tool or a strip. It empties a blackhead but does not narrow the follicle wall, and hard suction can leave the opening looking wider.
- Packaging: if a box promises a korean face pore-fect glow radiant finish, read it as a makeup claim, not a skin claim.
So when someone asks me for the best pore minimizer korean shelves have, I tell them to keep using it. A korean beauty pore minimizer manages what sits inside the opening. What it cannot do is rebuild collagen two millimetres down — and that is the part holding a stretched pore open. For that you need energy or a needle, which is where the clinic starts. If your pores come with rough patches and old marks, read my notes on korean pore and texture treatments next.

The in-clinic treatments I use for enlarged pores
Potenza RF microneedling — for stretched pores and old acne scars
Potenza sends fine needles into the dermis and releases radiofrequency energy there for an instant, so the surface is largely spared while the layer underneath is stimulated to rebuild collagen. Over the following weeks the wall around each opening thickens, and a wide pore reads as a smaller one. Our list also credits it with softening acne scars, evening out tone and easing fine lines.
When I choose it: pores that look like teardrops on the cheeks, pores sitting among rolling acne scars, or skin that looks dull and loose as well as porous. Settings are matched to your skin rather than fixed, and the list notes you can return to daily life straight away. When numbing cream is needed, allow about an hour from preparation through aftercare. Price from ₩159,000 (excl. VAT) — the per-session breakdown is in my post on Potenza RF microneedling cost per session.
Pore Injection — pore tightening plus PDRN regeneration
Pore Injection is our own recipe mixed with PDRN, delivered into the skin after numbing cream, with pore contraction and skin regeneration as its stated aim. It suits people bothered by wide pores together with broken, uneven texture, acne marks and fine lines, and it is designed to keep skin damage to a minimum.
When I choose it: a short trip, sensitive skin, or someone who wants the pore problem addressed at the root without needling the whole face. One session can be effective, but there are definitely individual differences, so we recommend three for a clearer result. From ₩120,000 (excl. VAT).
Dermatoxin skin Botox — for pores plus overall slack texture
Dermatoxin places micro-doses of toxin into the superficial skin rather than into a chewing muscle. The listed targets are pores, elasticity, fine lines and skin texture; patients describe a tighter, smoother face. It takes 10–20 minutes, and the premium Coretox version is chosen for its low risk of resistance if you plan to repeat it.
When I choose it: oily, slack skin where pores look wide across the whole cheek, or someone who wants a visible change before an event. You feel the facial tension within about a week, and it normally holds for about 2–3 months depending on the person. From ₩69,000 (excl. VAT). I go deeper into dosing in skin Botox (Dermatoxin) results.
Aqua Peeling — emptying the opening first
Aqua Peeling uses water-soluble and fat-soluble acids (AHA and BHA) with suction to lift sebum, dead skin and blackheads out of the opening, so it can be used on all skin types. The three steps take about 40 minutes and finish with a modelling pack and LED. From ₩29,000 (excl. VAT) for the trial option.
When I choose it: nose and chin pores that are dark rather than deep, makeup that slides by lunchtime, or as step one before a needle-based treatment. Having it twice a week puts no excessive strain on the skin, so visitors often book it twice in a week-long trip. If active breakouts are also part of your picture, see my korean acne treatment plan.
| Treatment | Works on | Numbing | Time in clinic | When change shows |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Potenza | Collagen under the pore wall, acne scars, texture | Cream, when needed | About 1 hour including aftercare | Many notice a difference after one session; firming builds over weeks |
| Pore Injection | Pore contraction and regeneration with PDRN | Cream | Short session | Three sessions recommended for a clearer result |
| Dermatoxin | Oil-prone, slack skin; pores, fine lines, elasticity | Not required | 10–20 minutes | Tightness felt within about a week; holds about 2–3 months |
| Aqua Peeling | Sebum, dead skin and blackheads inside the opening | None | About 40 minutes, three steps | Same day, on the surface |

What moves the final number is simple: how many sessions you commit to, and whether a booster is added to the needling session. Nothing is added without being explained and priced first. The complete menu, including everything in the acne and pore category, is on the treatments page.
What the visit looks like, and the realistic timeline
A structured consultation with an interpreter comes first. I look at the skin under light, check whether the openings are plugged or stretched, ask about your cleansing routine and any acne medication, then plan the session and perform it one to one. Genuine product and correct dosage, prepared in front of you, is the clinic's first motto.
| When | What to expect |
|---|---|
| Day 0 | Redness and warmth across the treated area; skin feels taut. Our list notes you can return to daily life straight away. |
| Days 1–3 | Redness fades, skin may feel dry or slightly rough. Keep it simple: cleanser, moisturiser, sunscreen. |
| Week 1–2 | Texture starts to look smoother. With Dermatoxin, the tightening is felt around the end of week one. |
| Weeks 4–8 | New collagen around the pore wall shows as narrower-looking openings in photos. This is when I reassess and decide on a second session. |
Risks, and the part I say out loud
Every procedure carries the possibility of side effects, and you should hear them before you agree to anything. None of these treatments is a cure for pore size; they reduce how visible it is, and the improvement needs maintenance because oil production and skin firmness keep changing.
- Redness, warmth and a sandpaper feel for a few days after microneedling.
- Small bruises or tender points where an injection went in.
- Temporary dryness or flaking if you exfoliate at home too soon after a peel.
- A breakout can surface in the first week as plugged material clears.
- If you are on oral acne medication, tell me — it changes what I will do with needles that week.
If what bothers you is not the pores themselves but the dents and shadows beside them, the honest conversation is about scars, not pores — I cover the numbers in acne scar treatment cost in Seoul.
Why visitors book pore treatment at Muse Clinic Myeongdong
Three things, stated as facts rather than promises. One price list, identical to the Korean price, published in full on the website. Interpreters in the clinic in English, Japanese and Chinese, with other languages arranged on request, staying with you from consultation through treatment. The head doctor consults and treats: the plan is made and performed one to one by Dr. Sarang Lim.
Practical details for a trip: we are on the 3rd floor of Korea Daeyungak Tower, 97 Toegye-ro, Jung-gu — a one-minute walk from Myeongdong Station Exit 5, also near Hoehyeon Station Exit 7 across from Shinsegae, in the building with a Twosome Place café and Hana Bank at street level. Open Mon–Fri 10:00–20:00 and Sat–Sun 09:00–15:00. Parking in the same building is ₩1,000 per 10 minutes with no base fee.

Questions people ask
Before you message us
How to get rid of enlarged pores on the nose and cheeks?
Treat the two layers separately. Empty the opening first with a cleansing-type treatment such as Aqua Peeling, then firm the wall around it with RF microneedling, a pore injection or skin Botox. On the nose the openings are the widest and the most stubborn; on the cheeks they usually respond earlier because the skin is thinner. Results and how long they last vary from person to person.
Can you get rid of enlarged pores for good?
No treatment deletes a pore — every hair follicle has an opening and needs one. What changes is the visible diameter: less sebum sitting inside it, more collagen propping up its wall, less inflammation stretching it. That improvement needs upkeep, because oil production and skin firmness keep changing with age, season and your routine.
How much does enlarged pore treatment cost in Seoul?
On our published list, Aqua Peeling starts from ₩29,000, Dermatoxin skin Botox from ₩69,000, Pore Injection from ₩120,000 and Potenza from ₩159,000, all excluding 10% VAT. It is the same list a Korean patient reads — there is no separate foreigner menu. Event prices run for a limited period, so the treatment page always shows the current number.
How many sessions do I need for enlarged pores?
For Potenza, many people notice a difference after a single session, though the number of sessions depends on your skin and your daily environment. For Pore Injection we recommend three sessions for a clearer result, and there are definitely individual differences. I would rather book you one session, look at the skin, and then decide than sell a package on day one.
Does pore treatment hurt, and how soon can I wear makeup?
Numbing cream is applied before Potenza and before a pore injection, so the needling feels like warm pressure rather than a sharp sting. Our list notes that with Potenza you can return to daily life straight away; expect some redness and warmth for the rest of the day, and plan makeup for the next morning. Aqua Peeling needs no numbing at all.
Can I fit a pore treatment into a short Seoul trip?
Yes. Aqua Peeling takes about 40 minutes across its three steps, and Dermatoxin takes 10–20 minutes. With Potenza, allow about an hour from numbing through aftercare and book it early in the trip rather than the night before a flight. We are open Mon–Fri 10:00–20:00 and Sat–Sun 09:00–15:00, one minute from Myeongdong Station Exit 5.
Results and maintenance period vary by individual. Every procedure carries the possibility of side effects, which are explained before you agree to treatment. Prices exclude 10% VAT and event prices may change. This article is general information from the clinic and is not a diagnosis; suitability is decided at the consultation.
