I am Dr. Sarang Lim, head doctor at Muse Clinic Myeongdong — an Inje University College of Medicine graduate with residency training at Paik Medical Center, a member of the Korean Academy of Aesthetic Plastic & Laser Medicine, and a Juvéderm advisory doctor — and how long does Juvederm last is the question I am asked before almost every filler consultation. The honest answer is a range, not a date: a hyaluronic acid filler like Juvederm generally holds its shape for about 6 to 18 months, and where it is placed matters more than the number printed on the syringe. Results and how long they last vary from person to person.
At our Myeongdong clinic Juvederm filler starts from ₩289,000 (excl. 10% VAT) for a 1cc session in most areas, excluding nose, forehead and under-eye, which have their own options. That is the same line a Korean patient reads on our full price list. Below is what actually changes, when it changes, how long it holds by area, and what shortens it.
How long does Juvederm last by area?
Hyaluronic acid gel is broken down by your own tissue, and movement speeds that up. A lip moves thousands of times a day; a cheekbone barely moves at all. That single fact explains most of the difference between a six-month result and an eighteen-month one.
| Area | Usual range | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Lips, mouth corners | about 6–9 months | Thin, mobile, well supplied with blood. The fastest turnover on the face. |
| Nasolabial folds | about 9–12 months | Constant movement from smiling and speaking, but placed deeper than lip filler. |
| Cheeks, mid-face volume | about 12–18 months | Deep, stable placement over bone with little muscle pull. |
| Chin, jaw contour | about 12–18 months | Firm gel on a stable base; shape holds longer than surface softening. |
| Temples, forehead | around 12 months or more | Low-movement areas, though larger volumes are usually needed. |
| Under-eye | around 12 months or more | Thin skin, minimal movement; technique and volume decide more than time here. |
These are juvederm results by area, not personal guarantees. If you want a plan that treats several of these areas in one visit rather than one at a time, our guide to facial balancing in Korea walks through the order I usually suggest. For lips specifically, read lip filler in Seoul, and for the nose line, nose filler in Seoul covers design and recovery in more detail.
What makes Juvederm last longer, or disappear sooner
- Movement: the busier the muscle under the filler, the shorter the result.
- Volume: an under-filled area looks flat sooner, so a too-small amount can read as 'it did not last'.
- Depth: gel placed deep on bone tends to hold shape longer than gel feathered near the surface.
- Your metabolism: faster turnover, more intense training and high body temperature all speed up breakdown.
- Lifestyle: heavy exercise, long sauna sessions and smoking are the three I see shorten results most.
- Pressure: sleeping face-down on the same side or pressing the area in the first week can shift fresh filler.
What changes and when: day 0 to month 18
Our steps are short: a one-to-one consultation, cooling anaesthesia, design marked on your face, then the injection. What happens after you leave is the part people underestimate, so here is the sequence I describe at the consultation.
| When | What you see and feel |
|---|---|
| Day 0 | Shape is visible immediately, plus swelling. Small pin marks; the area feels firm and slightly tender. |
| Days 1–3 | Peak swelling, especially in lips. A bruise may appear at an entry point. Do not judge the result. |
| Days 4–7 | Swelling drops off. The filler starts to feel like part of your face rather than a lump under it. |
| Week 2 | This is the real 'after'. The shape you see now is the shape I planned. |
| Months 1–6 | Stable. In mobile areas the first softening starts toward the end of this window. |
| Months 6–18 | Gradual fade, area by area, in the order of the table above. Touch-up decided by what is left, not the calendar. |

Downtime and side effects: what I tell every patient
Filler is an injection into living tissue, so side effects are possible and you should hear them before you agree to anything. Most are mechanical and short-lived; a few are uncommon but matter, which is why the doctor who assesses you is also the one holding the syringe.
- Swelling and tenderness for roughly three to seven days, longest in lips.
- Bruising at an entry point, usually one to two weeks and coverable with makeup after day one.
- Small firmness or a palpable edge in the first weeks as the gel settles; tell me rather than massaging it yourself.
- Asymmetry while swelling is uneven, which is why the review point is week 2, not day 3.
- Uncommon but serious: injury to a blood vessel. This is the reason area selection, depth and technique are a doctor's decision, not a menu choice.
Juvederm options and what changes the price
The gel is the same premium Juvederm family, a hyaluronic acid filler approved by the KFDA and FDA. What changes the number is the area and the volume it needs: a 1cc session for cheeks, chin or a fold is one line; nose is its own line because of technique; the forehead package is built around 5cc because a forehead simply takes more; the nasolabial fold package pairs 1cc with a Jamber thread. Every box is opened in front of you and measured — genuine product, correct dosage is our first motto.
- Juvederm Filler (excluding nose, forehead, under eye area) 1cc 1 session₩390,000₩289,000
- Juvéderm Earlobe Filler 1CC 1 Session₩300,000
- Juvéderm ELF Ear Filler 1CC 1 Session₩320,000
- Juvederm Forehead Filler Package 1 session₩1,850,000₩1,290,000

Prices exclude 10% VAT. Event prices run for a limited period and may change, so the treatment page always shows the current number.
If you are comparing the juvederm 1cc price seoul clinics quote, compare what is in the syringe and who injects it, not only the figure. Our full list is public, the event and normal price for the same 1cc both appear on it, and there is no separate foreigner menu.
When should I book a touch-up?
I prefer to review rather than refill on schedule. If the shape still reads well, we wait; if the area is halfway back to baseline, a smaller top-up usually restores it. For visitors who come to Seoul once or twice a year, I plan around the trip: treat the longer-lasting structural areas on this visit, and keep the fast-fading mobile areas for the visit closest to the event you care about.
Some faces are better served by a different mechanism than added gel. Sculptra and Radiesse work by stimulating your own collagen rather than filling a space, so they build and fade on a different rhythm — our Radiesse in Seoul guide explains that difference. For the hollow that drags the outer brow and cheek down, temple filler in Seoul is often the more efficient use of the same volume.
What Juvederm will not do (and what to read instead)
Filler changes shape, not skin surface. Patients regularly point at small white bumps and ask whether 1cc under the eye will smooth them; it will not, because those are milia, a different problem with a different tool — see how to get rid of milia under eyes, which also covers how to remove milia on face. If your goal is glow, pore texture and tone rather than contour, start with how to get korean glass skin instead of booking filler.
I am also asked how to make my forehead smaller, and filler does the opposite of that: it adds volume to a flat or stepped forehead rather than reducing its height. If a smoother, fuller forehead line is what you actually want, the forehead and nasolabial fold filler options are the right page, and I will say so at the consultation rather than inject something that cannot deliver what you pictured.

Questions people ask
Before you message us
How long does Juvederm last?
In consultations I quote a range rather than one number: a hyaluronic acid filler such as Juvederm usually holds its shape for roughly 6 to 18 months. Lips and mouth corners sit at the shorter end because they move all day; deep cheek, chin and temple placement sits at the longer end. Your metabolism and the amount injected shift the outcome, so results and how long they last vary from person to person.
How long does Juvederm filler last in lips?
Lips are the shortest-lasting area for almost everyone. The tissue is thin, well supplied with blood, and moving every time you talk, eat or smile, so the gel breaks down faster there than in a cheek. Many people come back somewhere between six and nine months, often for a smaller amount than the first time. If lips are your main goal, read our lip filler guide before you book.
How much is 1cc of Juvederm in Seoul?
On our Myeongdong list Juvederm starts from ₩289,000 (excl. 10% VAT) for a 1cc session in most areas, excluding nose, forehead and under-eye, which are priced separately. Nose, forehead and nasolabial fold work has its own option because the technique and the volume differ. Event prices run for a limited period, so check the treatment page for today's number, which is the same number a Korean patient pays.
How long does swelling last after Juvederm?
Most swelling peaks in the first 24 to 48 hours and settles over about three to seven days, with lips swelling the most and cheeks the least. A bruise at an entry point can take a week or two to clear and covers with makeup after the first day. I ask patients not to judge shape before day 14, because that is when the filler has settled into the tissue.
Does Juvederm last longer the second time?
Some patients find the next session needs less volume because part of the previous filler is still there, so the result reads as lasting longer. That is not a rule, though. How much remains depends on the area, how much was placed and your own breakdown rate, which is why I re-examine the face at every visit instead of repeating the first plan by default.
Can I get Juvederm during a short trip to Seoul?
Yes, and it is one of the most common injectables visitors book with us. Plan the appointment at least three to four days before any event or flight home so swelling and any bruise have time to settle. We are a one-minute walk from Myeongdong Station Exit 5, open Monday to Friday 10:00–20:00 and Saturday to Sunday 09:00–15:00, so a weekend slot is realistic.
Results and maintenance period vary by individual. Every procedure carries the possibility of side effects, which are explained before you agree to treatment. Prices exclude 10% VAT and event prices may change. This article is general information from the clinic and is not a diagnosis; suitability is decided at the consultation.
