If you typed english speaking dermatologist Seoul into Google, you are probably not looking for an article about Korean skincare culture. You want three questions answered before you book: will someone explain the treatment to me in English, will I be charged a tourist price, and can this fit between my flight in and my flight out. I am Dr. Sarang Lim, head doctor at Muse Clinic Myeongdong, and this is how those three work at our clinic.
We are a dermatology clinic on the 3rd floor of the Korea Daeyungak Tower, a one-minute walk from Myeongdong Station Exit 5. English, Japanese and Chinese interpreters are in the clinic, and other languages can be arranged on request. The whole price list — every treatment, every option, every number — is published on our treatments page, and prices exclude 10% VAT.
People arrive at us through slightly different wording of the same worry. Some search for an english speaking skin clinic seoul, some for an english speaking dermatology clinic seoul, and some type it backwards as dermatologist seoul english speaking. The underlying question is the same: who will I actually be talking to, and what will I actually pay.
What "english speaking dermatologist Seoul" should mean in practice
Plenty of clinics will say they handle foreign patients. What that means in the room varies a lot. The useful test is not whether someone at reception speaks English — it is whether anyone speaks English during the part where decisions are made and during the part where a needle or a laser is being used on your face.
- Someone interprets the consultation, not just the paperwork at the desk.
- That person stays with you through the treatment, so you can say "that is too hot" and be understood.
- The treatment plan comes from a doctor, after a consultation, not from a brochure.
- The price you are quoted is a line on a published list you can read yourself.
- You are told what the product is and see the dose prepared, not handed a mystery syringe.
Those five points are how I would judge any clinic as a visitor, including ours. Genuine products and correct dosage is the first motto we work by, and for injectables the vial and the measured dose are checked in front of you before anything goes in.
Who you talk to: interpreter first, then the head doctor
A structured consultation comes first, with an interpreter present. We go through what bothers you, what you have had done before, and what is realistic in the time you have in Korea. Then the plan is made and carried out one to one by me rather than passed to a separate room.
- 01You message on WhatsApp with dates, your concern and ideally a photo in daylight.
- 02You arrive at the 3rd floor; the interpreter meets you at reception and stays with you.
- 03Consultation: skin check, what each option can and cannot change, the price from the list.
- 04Treatment with the head doctor, interpreter in the room.
- 05Aftercare instructions in English before you leave, so you are not translating them in a taxi.

Do foreigners pay more at a Seoul skin clinic?
This is the question I get asked most bluntly, usually in the first WhatsApp message. Our answer is structural rather than promotional: there is no separate foreigner menu. You read the same list a Korean patient reads, and because the list is public you can check it before you walk in and after you walk out.
Two things to understand about the numbers. All prices exclude 10% VAT, which is added at payment, so budget for it. And some lines are event prices that run for a limited period and can change, which is why the treatment page — not a blog post — is the place to confirm today's figure.

What moves the final number is which product and how much of it. Jaw Botox starts from ₩19,000 (excl. VAT) for a first-visit Korean-made 50-unit trial, and rises if you choose the premium Korean toxin or a package that adds a contour injection. Pico laser toning starts from ₩39,000 (excl. VAT) for a single toning session and costs more for the full bespoke mode or a course. Ulthera Lifting is priced by shot count, from ₩199,000 (excl. VAT) for a 100-shot trial. For a wider comparison of toxin pricing in Korea, read our Korean Botox price guide.
What fits a short trip, and when you actually see it
Most visitors have two or three free hours, not two weeks. The in-clinic time for the treatments below is short; the honest variable is how long the result takes to appear. Plan around the right-hand column, not the middle one.
| Treatment | What it targets | Time in clinic | When you notice |
|---|---|---|---|
| Jaw Botox | Wide lower face from an overbuilt chewing muscle | About 10 minutes of injection | Chewing feels lighter within weeks; slimming develops over the following month or two |
| Anti-wrinkle Botox | Forehead, glabella, crow's feet and other expression lines | 10–20 minutes, with little downtime | Effect starts around 1 month in and holds about 3 months; we suggest repeating 3–4 months apart |
| Pico laser toning | Dull tone, freckles, pigment, pores, scars | One session, usually finished with a modelling pack | Gradual; pigment work is normally a course rather than one visit |
| Ulthera Lifting | Loose skin along the jaw and cheeks | Under 30 minutes | Firming builds as collagen responds over the following weeks and months |
If your trip is short and you want one thing that is both quick and low-fuss, anti-wrinkle Botox from ₩29,000 (excl. VAT) per area is the usual answer in my consultations. Results and how long they last vary from person to person, and that applies to every row in the table above.
How booking works when you cannot call
Our phone line is not staffed for foreign-language calls, so we do not ask visitors to use it. Everything runs through WhatsApp or Instagram, which also gives you a written record of what was agreed — useful if you are comparing clinics or asking a friend's opinion before you decide.
- 01Message with your dates, your concern, and a photo in natural light.
- 02We reply with the suggested option, the list price excluding VAT, and available times.
- 03You confirm a slot; weekend mornings between 09:00 and 15:00 are popular with short-stay visitors.
- 04Come to the 3rd floor; the interpreter takes you from there.
Risks, and the part worth hearing in your own language
Every injection and every laser carries the possibility of side effects, and this is exactly why interpretation during the consultation matters more than interpretation at the front desk. You need to be able to describe your medical history and ask what could go wrong without reaching for a translation app.
- Injections: bruising, small bumps or tenderness at an injection point for a few days.
- Toxin: a temporary heavy or uneven feeling in the treated muscle while it adapts.
- Lasers and energy devices: redness or warmth after the session, and strict sun protection afterwards.
- Anything you are unsure about is a reason to ask before, not after — the interpreter is there for that.
Why visitors book with us at Muse Clinic Myeongdong
Three things, all checkable rather than promised. One published price list, the same one Korean patients read, on the treatments page. Interpreters in English, Japanese and Chinese inside the clinic, with other languages arranged on request. And a consultation that leads straight into one-to-one treatment by the head doctor — you can read Dr. Sarang Lim's training at Inje University College of Medicine, her residency at Paik Medical Center and her advisory roles with Juvéderm, Galderma Sculptra, Merz and Jeisys before you decide to trust her with your face.
Practical details for a trip: one minute from Myeongdong Station Exit 5, also close to Hoehyeon Station Exit 7 opposite Shinsegae Department Store, 3rd floor of the building with a Twosome Place café and Hana Bank at street level. Open Monday to Friday 10:00–20:00 and Saturday to Sunday 09:00–15:00. There is a parking tower in the same building at ₩1,000 per 10 minutes with no base fee. Our Google rating is 4.6 from around 250 reviews, which you can read yourself.

Questions people ask
Before you message us
Is there an english speaking dermatologist Seoul visitors can book without speaking Korean?
Yes. At Muse Clinic Myeongdong, English, Japanese and Chinese interpreters work inside the clinic, and other languages can be arranged on request. Someone stays with you from the consultation through the treatment itself, so you are never left guessing what was decided. The head doctor plans and performs the treatment one to one after that consultation.
Do foreigners pay more at a skin clinic in Seoul?
Not with us. You read the same price list a Korean patient reads, and the full list with every option is published on our treatments page rather than quoted verbally. All prices exclude 10% VAT, which is added at payment. Some lines are event prices that run for a limited period, so the treatment page always shows the current number.
Can I fit a skin treatment into a three-day Seoul trip?
Usually yes, depending on what you choose. Jaw Botox takes about 10 minutes of injection time, anti-wrinkle Botox 10 to 20 minutes, and Ulthera Lifting under 30 minutes. What varies is when you see the change: Botox effect starts around a month later and holds roughly three months. Results and how long they last vary from person to person.
Who does the consultation — a counsellor or the doctor?
A structured consultation comes first with an interpreter present, and then it leads into one-to-one treatment planned and performed by the head doctor, Dr. Sarang Lim. If a treatment will not do what you are hoping for, you hear that at the consultation rather than after payment. You can read her training and advisory roles on the doctor page.
How do I book if I cannot call a Korean phone number?
Message us on WhatsApp or Instagram. Our phone line is not staffed for foreign-language calls, so writing is both faster and clearer for you. Send your dates, your concern, and a photo in natural light if you have one. We will reply with the option we would suggest, the list price, and the slots that match your trip.
Where is the clinic and when is it open?
We are on the 3rd floor of the Korea Daeyungak Tower, 97 Toegye-ro, Jung-gu, a one-minute walk from Myeongdong Station Exit 5 on Line 4, also near Hoehyeon Station Exit 7 across from Shinsegae Department Store. Hours are Monday to Friday 10:00–20:00 and Saturday to Sunday 09:00–15:00. The building has a Twosome Place café and Hana Bank on the ground floor.
Results and maintenance period vary by individual. Every procedure carries the possibility of side effects, which are explained before you agree to treatment. Prices exclude 10% VAT and event prices may change. This article is general information from the clinic and is not a diagnosis; suitability is decided at the consultation.
