If a Seoul trip is in your calendar, korean aesthetic clinics was probably one of your first searches. What comes back is ranked lists with no prices, Instagram grids in a language you cannot read, and no answer to the three things you actually want to know: will I be charged more than a Korean patient, can I be understood in the room, and does any of this fit a four-day trip?
I am the head doctor at Muse Clinic Myeongdong, a dermatology clinic one minute from Myeongdong Station. Short version of this guide to korean aesthetic clinics: you pay the same published list price a Korean patient pays, an interpreter stays with you from consultation to the end of treatment, and the quickest thing visitors fly in for — jaw Botox, from ₩19,000 (excl. 10% VAT) — takes about ten minutes. Below is what to check at any clinic here, what we treat, and how booking works from abroad.
What the phrase "korean aesthetic clinics" actually covers
The phrase gets used for everything from a hotel spa facial to a medical clinic with lasers and injectables. They are not the same visit. In a clinic, a doctor examines you, decides whether the problem is pigment, muscle, volume or loose skin, and uses devices and injections that only a medical institution can hold. A facial room cannot do that, which is the difference explained in our note on a clinic facial versus a spa facial.
Ranked lists of "best skin clinics in seoul", "best aesthetic clinics in seoul" and "best beauty clinics in seoul" rarely tell you which of those two things you are looking at, and almost never show a price. So instead of a ranking of korean aesthetic clinics, here is the checklist I would use if I were the one travelling.
- Is the full price list published, with every option and every number — or only "from" teasers?
- Is it clear whether prices include VAT? In Korea, listed clinic prices usually exclude 10%.
- Who performs the treatment: the doctor who consulted you, or someone you meet for the first time with a needle in hand?
- Is there an interpreter in the clinic, or a phone app passed back and forth?
- Can you see the product opened and the dose measured in front of you?
- How long does it take you to get there, and is it open the day you are free?
Gangnam or Myeongdong: does the district change anything?
Searches for "best aesthetic clinics in gangnam" and "gangnam skin clinics" dominate because that district has the highest concentration of korean aesthetic clinics. Concentration is not quality, though, and it is not convenience either. What changes your experience is whether the clinic publishes its prices, who treats you, and how far it is from your hotel when you are tired and carrying shopping bags.
We are on the 3rd floor of Korea Daeyungak Tower, 97 Toegye-ro, Jung-gu — a one-minute walk from Myeongdong Station Exit 5 on Line 4, and close to Hoehyeon Station Exit 7, across from Shinsegae Department Store. There is a Twosome Place café and a Hana Bank at street level, which is how most visitors find the lift. If you are staying downtown, that is the practical argument for Myeongdong over a cross-city trip.

Do foreigners pay more at korean aesthetic clinics?
This is the question I get most, and it is a fair one. At our clinic there is no separate foreigner menu. The line you are quoted is the line a Korean patient reads on the full treatments page, and if you are comparing korean beauty clinics on cost, that published list is what you should be asking every one of them for.
Two mechanics to understand before you budget. Prices exclude 10% VAT, so add that to anything you see at korean aesthetic clinics here. And event prices run for a limited period and can change, which is why I point people at the live treatment page instead of a screenshot. For a worked example on one category, read our breakdown of what korean skin care clinics charge for Botox.
What visitors book at korean aesthetic clinics in Seoul
These four cover most of what people on a short trip ask me for. If your concern is broader — texture, dullness, hydration — our guide to korean skin clinics for foreigners and the overview of korean skin care clinics and what visitors book go wider than this page.
Jaw Botox, for a wide lower face
The masseter is the chewing muscle at the back corner of the jaw. Relaxing it lets the muscle shrink, so the lower face narrows over the following weeks. Jaw Botox is from ₩19,000 (excl. VAT) for a first-visit Korean-made 50-unit session, the injection takes about ten minutes, and there is little downtime. When I would choose it: you clench your teeth and feel a firm bulge rise at the jaw angle.
Wrinkle Botox, for expression lines
Anti-wrinkle Botox is from ₩29,000 (excl. VAT) and covers forehead, glabella, crow's feet, under-eye, nose bridge, nasal flare and a cobblestone chin. The session runs 10 to 20 minutes. The effect starts roughly a month after the injection and holds for about three months, so we usually suggest repeating three to four months apart. When I would choose it: the lines you dislike appear when you move your face.
Pico laser toning, for pigment and dullness
Pico laser toning targets melanin with ultra-short pulses — 755nm on Picosure, 1064nm on Picoplus — so surrounding tissue takes less heat. It is used for melasma, freckles, acne scarring and overall tone, from ₩39,000 (excl. VAT) with a modelling pack. When I would choose it: flat brown patches and uneven tone rather than redness. Pigment usually improves across a course, not in one visit.
Ulthera lifting, for loose skin
Ulthera Lifting sends focused ultrasound into the layer beneath the skin, which contracts and then rebuilds collagen, so the jaw and cheek line feel firmer over the following months. From ₩199,000 (excl. VAT) for a 100-shot trial session, under 30 minutes in the chair, with the genuine tip shown to you. When I would choose it: skin that has lost tension, not fat and not muscle. Our Ultherapy in Seoul post goes into shot counts.

| Treatment | What it targets | Time in the chair | When it shows |
|---|---|---|---|
| Jaw Botox | Overbuilt chewing muscle, square lower face | About 10 minutes | Narrowing builds over the following weeks |
| Wrinkle Botox | Expression lines on forehead, glabella, eyes | 10–20 minutes | From about 1 month, holds around 3 months |
| Pico laser toning | Melasma, freckles, uneven tone, scarring | One session plus a modelling pack | Gradual, usually across a course of sessions |
| Ulthera lifting | Skin that has lost tension along jaw and cheek | Under 30 minutes | Firmness continues building after the session |

How booking at korean aesthetic clinics works from abroad
We do not take foreign-patient enquiries by phone, because there is no foreign-language phone line and a mistranslated plan is worse than no plan. Everything runs through WhatsApp or Instagram, in writing, so you keep a record of what was agreed.
- 01Message us with your travel dates, your concern, and a straight-on photo if you have one.
- 02We reply with the option we would suggest, the price from the list, and the slots open on your dates.
- 03You arrive at the 3rd floor and check in at reception; an interpreter meets you there.
- 04A structured consultation comes first — the doctor examines the area, confirms what is causing it, and sets the plan.
- 05The head doctor performs the treatment one to one. Product is opened and the dose measured in front of you.
- 06Aftercare instructions are given through the interpreter before you leave.
Hours are Monday to Friday 10:00–20:00 and Saturday to Sunday 09:00–15:00, so a weekend slot between shopping is realistic. If you drive, the parking tower in the same building is ₩1,000 per 10 minutes with no base fee, with exit by 18:30 on weekdays and 12:00 on Saturdays.
Fitting a clinic visit into a short trip
| When | What suits that slot |
|---|---|
| The day you land | Consultation plus a quick injectable such as jaw or wrinkle Botox — about 10–20 minutes in the chair |
| Any morning | Pico laser toning; keep sun exposure sensible for the rest of the day |
| Not the morning of your flight | Ulthera lifting — short, but the skin can feel tender and you may prefer a quiet evening |
| Saturday or Sunday | 09:00–15:00 slots, which visitors book most often |
One honest caveat about timing at any of the korean aesthetic clinics you are considering: most of these treatments show their result after you have flown home. Botox builds over weeks, lifting continues over months, pigment improves across a course. Results and how long they last vary from person to person, and no clinic here can promise you a specific outcome by a specific date.
Risks, and what we do not promise
Every injection and every laser carries the possibility of side effects. With injectables that means bruising, a small bump at the injection point, or temporary asymmetry if the product acts on a neighbouring muscle. With lasers it means redness or temporary darkening of a treated spot. These are usually short-lived, but you should hear them before you agree, not after.
We also say no. If the width you dislike is bone rather than muscle, or the laxity needs something injectables cannot reach, I tell you at the consultation. Genuine product and the correct dose, explained openly, is the clinic's first motto — and that includes being open about what will not work.
Interpreters, and who actually treats you
English, Japanese and Chinese interpreters are in the clinic, and other languages can be arranged on request. The interpreter is not just at the front desk; someone stays with you from the consultation through the treatment, so questions get answered while the decision is still being made.
The consultation and the treatment are both handled by the head doctor, Dr. Sarang Lim — a graduate of Inje University College of Medicine, residency at Paik Medical Center, and advisory doctor for Juvéderm, Galderma Sculptra, Merz, Jeisys, QT Fill, Olidia and NOVA Thread, with a Cynosure-certified laser centre. You can read the full credentials before you book.

Why visitors choose us among korean aesthetic clinics
Muse Clinic has 11 branches in Korea; this is the Myeongdong branch, rated 4.6 on Google across about 250 reviews. The reasons visitors give us are consistent and unglamorous: one price list identical to the Korean price, an interpreter in the room, the head doctor doing the consultation and the treatment, weekend hours, and a one-minute walk from Myeongdong Station Exit 5.

Questions people ask
Before you message us
Are korean aesthetic clinics more expensive for foreigners?
They do not have to be. At Muse Clinic Myeongdong you pay from the same published list a Korean patient pays, and the full list with every option sits on our website. Prices exclude 10% VAT, and event prices run for a limited period, so the treatment page is always the number to trust rather than a screenshot from a blog.
Do korean aesthetic clinics have English-speaking staff?
Ours has English, Japanese and Chinese interpreters in the clinic, and other languages can be arranged if you ask in advance. Someone stays with you from the consultation through the treatment itself, so you are not translating medical questions on your phone. We handle foreign-patient enquiries on WhatsApp and Instagram rather than by phone, because there is no foreign-language phone line.
Should I go to Gangnam or Myeongdong for a skin clinic?
Pick by what you can verify and how easily you can get there, not by district. We are a one-minute walk from Myeongdong Station Exit 5 on Line 4, also close to Hoehyeon Station Exit 7 across from Shinsegae Department Store, which suits travellers staying downtown. If you need a second session in the same week, short travel time matters more than the postcode.
How far in advance should I book at korean aesthetic clinics?
Message us with your dates as soon as they are fixed and we will suggest a slot. Weekday hours are 10:00 to 20:00 and weekends 09:00 to 15:00, so Saturday and Sunday mornings fill up with visitors on short trips. Sending a photo and your concern in the same message lets us tell you the likely option before you arrive.
What can I realistically get done on a four-day trip?
Injectables and laser toning fit easily: jaw Botox takes about ten minutes, wrinkle Botox 10 to 20 minutes, and Ulthera lifting under 30 minutes. What varies is when the result shows — Botox builds over weeks, pigment usually fades across a course of sessions. Results and how long they last vary from person to person.
Who decides which treatment I get?
A structured consultation with an interpreter comes first, then the head doctor plans and performs the treatment one to one. If what you asked for will not fix what is bothering you, I say so at that point rather than injecting something that will not show. Nothing happens before you have heard the plan, the option and the price.
Results and maintenance period vary by individual. Every procedure carries the possibility of side effects, which are explained before you agree to treatment. Prices exclude 10% VAT and event prices may change. This article is general information from the clinic and is not a diagnosis; suitability is decided at the consultation.
