Skin care in Korea is the reason plenty of people leave two spare hours in a Seoul itinerary. Most of what you have read about is at-home routine: cleansing, sunscreen, consistency. What a dermatology clinic adds is the part you cannot do from a bottle — pigment broken down by a laser, radiofrequency energy delivered into the dermis, hyaluronic acid placed inside the skin rather than on top of it.
I am Dr. Sarang Lim, head doctor at Muse Clinic Myeongdong. This is what visitors actually book with us, what each treatment changes, and the real numbers: from ₩39,000 (excl. 10% VAT) for pico laser toning and from ₩41,000 (excl. VAT) for a Shurink Universe HIFU session. No foreigner menu, no quote that appears only after you sit down.
What skin care in Korea means inside a dermatology clinic
Two phrases people type into Google are korean skin care in korea and best korean skin care in korea. The first usually means "what do people there actually get done". The second means "please decide for me". The honest answer to the second is that there is no single answer to the best skin care in korea, because the right treatment changes completely depending on what is bothering you.
In a clinic, skin concerns get sorted into layers, not into brands. Colour sits in the epidermis and upper dermis. Texture, pores and scars sit in the dermis. Hydration and fine lines come from what is between the cells. Firmness comes from collagen and the layer under it. A laser that fixes colour will not firm a jaw line, and a lifting device will not fade a sunspot.
- Colour: freckles, sunspots, melasma, a dull or patchy tone
- Texture: rough surface, enlarged pores, acne scars
- Hydration: tight, dry skin and fine lines on the cheeks
- Firmness: a softening jaw line and loss of definition
- Everything above can be mixed — most faces need two of them, not four
So before you compare clinics, decide which of those four you would pay to change first. If you want the longer version of how to filter clinics as a visitor, I wrote one on choosing the best skin care in korea as a foreigner.
What visitors actually book for skin care in Seoul
Four treatments cover the majority of what visitors ask for at our Myeongdong desk. For each one, here is what it does and when I would choose it in a consultation.
Pico laser toning — for colour and tone
Pico laser toning fires picosecond pulses that selectively break down melanin, using a 755nm wavelength with Picosure or 1064nm with Picoplus. Because each shot lasts a trillionth of a second, the surrounding skin takes less heat. The list covers blemishes, pores, scars and brightening, and it starts at from ₩39,000 (excl. VAT) with a modelling pack.
When I'd choose this: your tone looks uneven in photos, you have freckles or sun-related patches, or you want a brightening course across several sessions. Pigment responds gradually, so the packages of 5, 9 and 10 sessions exist for a reason. Details on session-by-session pricing are in my note on pico toning in Seoul.
Skin vive — for dryness and fine lines
Skin vive is an FDA-approved hyaluronic acid preparation injected into the skin of the cheeks to improve fine wrinkles and rough texture. Hyaluronic acid drops with age; as it drops, the structure holding the skin firm loosens, pores widen and the surface gets rough. This puts some of it back where it is missing. From ₩220,000 (excl. VAT) for 1cc.
When I'd choose this: your face goes tight and dry by midday, your texture reads rough under makeup, or you have a wedding or a shoot and want the surface smoother. It is also the one I suggest for people who want to strengthen a reactive, flushing barrier. More options are in the skin boosters in Korea guide.
Potenza — for pores and acne scars
Potenza puts microneedles into the dermis and releases radiofrequency energy there for an instant, so the surface is largely spared while the layer underneath is stimulated to rebuild. It softens enlarged pores and acne scars and evens out overall texture. Packages start from ₩159,000 (excl. VAT) and the settings are matched to your skin rather than run at one fixed level.
When I'd choose this: indented acne scars, pores that no primer hides, or a dull complexion with patchy redness. With numbing cream, allow about an hour from preparation to aftercare. Many people notice a difference after one session, but the number of sessions varies with your skin and your environment. See also my post on textured skin treatment.
Shurink Universe — for firmness
Shurink Universe is high-intensity focused ultrasound. It creates thermal coagulation points under the skin, and as that tissue contracts and rebuilds collagen over the following weeks, the jaw line looks more defined. Two handpieces and several modes let us treat small curved areas as well as broad ones. From ₩41,000 (excl. VAT) for 100 shots.
When I'd choose this: the lower face has started to soften, the jaw line is less distinct in side photos, or you want firmness rather than colour. The change is slow and it arrives after you have flown home — which is exactly why I explain the timeline before you book. Full breakdown in Korean HIFU: Shurink Universe lifting.

Skin care in Korea: comparing the four by concern
| Concern | Treatment | How it works | When the change shows |
|---|---|---|---|
| Freckles, sunspots, uneven tone | Pico laser toning | Picosecond pulses break down melanin selectively | Gradually over a course of sessions |
| Rough texture, dryness, fine cheek lines | Skin vive | Hyaluronic acid injected into the skin itself | Over the days after swelling settles |
| Enlarged pores, acne scars | Potenza | Microneedles deliver RF into the dermis | Weeks, as collagen rebuilds |
| Softening jaw line, loss of firmness | Shurink Universe HIFU | Focused ultrasound creates coagulation points under the skin | Roughly 1–3 months |
Lists of the top skin care in korea are built from search volume, not from a face. This table is the version I actually use in the room: pick the row that matches what you see in the mirror, then we confirm it by looking at your skin under clinic light.
Skin care in Korea prices: the list you actually pay
Here are the four treatments above, straight from the live price list. Prices exclude 10% VAT, and event prices run for a limited period, so the page below is always the current number rather than one I typed into a blog post last year.

What moves the final number is the option, not your passport: how many shots, how many cc, how many sessions, and whether a package bundles an injection with the device. If you want to see everything rather than four treatments, the full skin care in seoul price list is published with every option and every figure. Injectables are priced the same way — the method is laid out in my Korean Botox price guide.
Fitting skin care in Seoul into a short trip
Most visitors have three or four days and half of them are already booked. A clinic visit is easier to schedule than people expect, because the consultation and the treatment happen in the same appointment. A structured consultation with an interpreter comes first, then the plan is made and performed one to one by the head doctor.
| When | What happens |
|---|---|
| Before you fly | Message us with dates and a photo; we reserve a slot and tell you which option we would use |
| On the day | Consultation with an interpreter, then the doctor confirms the plan, then the treatment |
| Same evening | Sunscreen, gentle cleansing, skip the sauna, the hot bath and heavy drinking |
| Next 1–3 days | Laser toning: makeup as usual for most people. Injections: small bumps or a bruise can last a day or two |
| Weeks 2–8 | Collagen-based changes from HIFU and RF microneedling appear after you are home |
Practical details: we are a one-minute walk from Myeongdong Station Exit 5 on Line 4, also close to Hoehyeon Station Exit 7, across from Shinsegae Department Store, on the 3rd floor of the Korea Daeyungak Tower — the building with a Twosome Place café and Hana Bank at street level. Open Monday to Friday 10:00–20:00 and Saturday to Sunday 09:00–15:00. There is a parking tower in the same building at ₩1,000 per 10 minutes with no base fee.

Risks, and the part that is not on the poster
Every one of these treatments is a medical procedure, and side effects are possible. Lasers can leave redness, temporary darkening of a treated spot, or occasionally the opposite. Injections can leave a bruise or a small bump for a day or two. RF microneedling leaves the skin pink and sensitive for a short period. Results and how long they last vary from person to person.
- Tell us about every medication, supplement and recent treatment, including anything injected elsewhere in the last few months
- Pigment conditions like melasma can rebound with heat and sun, so sunscreen is part of the treatment, not an extra
- If you are flying the same day or the next morning, say so — it changes what I would do
- One well-chosen session beats three stacked ones on a short trip
- If a treatment will not change what bothers you, I will say so rather than sell you a different device
Why visitors book skin care in Korea with us
Three things we put in writing rather than promise. One price list: you pay the same line a Korean patient pays, and the whole list is public. Interpreters on site in English, Japanese and Chinese, with other languages arranged on request, staying with you from consultation to aftercare. The head doctor consults and treats: after the structured consultation, the plan is made and carried out one to one by Dr. Sarang Lim.
The clinic's first motto is genuine products and correct dosage — for injectables that means the product and the measured dose are checked in front of you before anything goes in. Phone consultations are not available in foreign languages, so WhatsApp and Instagram are how visitors reach us. That is also the fastest way to confirm a slot while you are still deciding between dates.

If your goal is the glossy, even finish people mean when they say Korean skin, the treatments stack in a specific order — colour first, then texture, then hydration. I set that sequence out step by step in how to get Korean glass skin.

Questions people ask
Before you message us
How much does skin care in Korea cost at a clinic?
At our Myeongdong clinic the treatments visitors book most often start at ₩39,000 for pico laser toning, ₩41,000 for a 100-shot Shurink Universe session, ₩159,000 for a Potenza package and ₩220,000 for Skin vive 1cc. All exclude 10% VAT. Every number sits on the public price list, and event prices run for a limited period, so the treatment page is always the current figure.
What skin care in Korea should I book on a 3-day trip?
If you only have one appointment, pick the concern that bothers you in photos. Uneven tone and sunspots point to laser toning; rough texture and pores point to Potenza; dryness and fine cheek lines point to Skin vive; a softening jaw line points to HIFU. Laser toning and HIFU are the easiest to slot in late in a trip because there is little to recover from.
Do I need to speak Korean for skin care in Seoul?
No. English, Japanese and Chinese interpreters are in the clinic, and other languages can be arranged on request. Someone stays with you from the consultation through the treatment, so the questions about your skin, your medication and your aftercare are all answered in your language rather than guessed from a translation app.
Is there a foreigner price at Korean skin clinics?
There is none here. You pay the same line on the same list a Korean patient pays, and the full list with every option and every number is published on our website. Prices exclude 10% VAT, which is normal for aesthetic treatments in Korea. If a quote you are given does not match a published list, ask which option it refers to.
How many sessions do I need to see a difference?
It depends entirely on the concern. Pigment and tone usually move over a course of sessions, which is why packages of 5, 9 and 10 exist on the list. Texture treatments and HIFU work through collagen, so the change shows over roughly one to three months. Results and how long they last vary from person to person.
Can I book a skin treatment on a weekend?
Yes. We are open Monday to Friday 10:00–20:00 and Saturday to Sunday 09:00–15:00, one minute from Myeongdong Station Exit 5. Weekend mornings fill quickly because they fit around shopping, so message us on WhatsApp with your dates before you fly rather than walking in and hoping.
Results and maintenance period vary by individual. Every procedure carries the possibility of side effects, which are explained before you agree to treatment. Prices exclude 10% VAT and event prices may change. This article is general information from the clinic and is not a diagnosis; suitability is decided at the consultation.
