I am Dr. Sarang Lim, Head Doctor at Muse Clinic Myeongdong, trained at Inje University College of Medicine and an advisory doctor for NOVA Thread, and almost every lifting consultation I run opens with the same request: show me what this looks like a month later. Since I cannot show you other patients' photographs, here is the next best thing — an honest, stage-by-stage account of korean thread lift before and after, written by the person who places the threads.
Our thread lifting list starts from ₩100,000 (excl. 10% VAT) for All Re Ju Thread Mono 20 lines, Jamber Thread Lifting from ₩200,000, and Museko nose threads from ₩180,000. Below I cover what changes, when it changes, how long the bruising really lasts, and how the visit fits into a short Seoul trip.
What a korean thread lift can change, and what it cannot
Sagging has two parts: tissue that has drifted downward, and skin that has lost the collagen holding it in place. A thread lift is a non-surgical way to address the first part directly — the thread is passed through the skin layer, holds the tissue in a slightly higher position, and then dissolves while leaving collagen along its track. That is why our list describes it as activating collagen to build a more resilient face line.
What it will not do is remove a large volume of fat under the chin, change bone width, or erase deep static lines on its own. If the real issue is skin texture and laxity rather than weight pulling downward, I talk about ultrasound instead — see our notes on Korean HIFU with Shurink Universe or Ultherapy in Seoul. Being clear about this at the consultation is the difference between a happy before-and-after and a disappointed one.
- You want wrinkles and a drooping line softened without surgery
- Facial sagging has started to change how you look in photographs
- Skin elasticity has dropped with age and creams are not holding it
- You look older than you feel because of the lines around the mouth and jaw
- Not a match on its own: a lower face that is mostly fat, or bony width
Korean thread lift before and after: the week-by-week timeline
This is the part most articles skip. A korean thread lift gives you an immediate pull on the day, then a worse-looking few days, then the real change. Visitors who fly home on day three often think it failed. It did not — they left during the swelling. Results and how long they last vary from person to person.
| When | What you see and feel |
|---|---|
| Day 0 | Threads placed under anaesthetic cream. The face line already sits higher, with puncture points and tightness. Washing and makeup are possible after 2–3 hours. |
| Days 1–3 | Swelling peaks and bruising can appear. Wide smiling and chewing feel tight and slightly pulled. DuoDerm stays on the entry points for 1–2 days. |
| Weeks 1–2 | Bruising and swelling settle over roughly 1–2 weeks. Your face looks like itself again, only firmer along the line that was lifted. |
| Weeks 3–8 | Collagen forms along the thread path. This is the before-and-after people actually photograph: a cleaner jaw line, less drag at the nasolabial fold. |
| Months 3–12 | The thread material is gone, the collagen stays. With Jamber Thread Lifting the holding period averages about 10 to 14 months, and it differs by individual. |

Face thread lift before and after: which threads I use where
There is no single thread. The thin mono threads in All Re Ju Thread Mono 20 lines work as a collagen stimulator across a wide area — good for crepey texture and a faint loss of firmness. QTL Thread Lift 4 Lines uses fewer, stronger threads to hold a specific line, usually the cheek-to-jaw drop. For a fuller account of thread types and what each one costs, read our detailed post on face thread lift before and after with PDO threads in Seoul.
Jamber Thread Lifting is the one I reach for when the problem is a hollow as well as a sag — a flat under-eye area or a set nasolabial fold. It gives a volume effect immediately after placement and keeps producing collagen as it dissolves, so you get lifting and volume in the same sitting. It is designed to reduce the pain, swelling and foreign-body feeling of earlier cog threads, and it holds its shape without being pushed through a cannula.
| Option | Where I use it | What changes first |
|---|---|---|
| All Re Ju Thread Mono (20 lines) | Wide areas with thin, slack skin | Texture and firmness over 4–8 weeks |
| QTL Thread Lift (4 lines) | The cheek-to-jaw line, mid-face drop | The line sits higher on day 0, then holds |
| Jamber Thread Lifting | Under-eye hollow, nasolabial fold | Volume immediately, collagen for months |
| Museko nose threads | Nose bridge, columella, tip | A straighter bridge line on the day |
Nose thread lift before and after: what Museko actually does
Of all the thread work we do, the nose thread lift before and after is the change people notice fastest, because the nose sits in the middle of every photograph. Museko uses a 4th-generation PDO thread placed along the nose bridge and the columella to hold the bridge, the line and the tip in a softer, straighter shape with a long-lasting volume effect and a short recovery period.
I suggest it for a low or flat bridge, a tip that points downward, or wide nostril shadows, when you want a natural nose line rather than an obvious one. The package pairs a nose bridge thread and a columella thread with domestic botulinum toxin at the nose bridge; extra threads can be added per thread if the design needs more support. The honest limit: thread work refines your own nose line, and swelling in the first days makes the change look stronger than it will be at two weeks.

Korean thread lift prices in Seoul and what moves the number
Three things change the price: how many threads, which thread type, and what is bundled with it. A mono thread session and a cog thread session are not the same work, and the One-Day packages add contour injections, Radiesse, Skin vive or ALL TITE shots so that the lift, the volume and the skin are handled in one sitting. You pay the same line on the list a Korean patient pays — there is no separate foreigner menu.

Prices exclude 10% VAT. Event prices run for a limited period and can change — the treatment pages always show the current numbers.
If you want to compare these against every other option before you book, the complete list — all treatments, all options, all numbers — is published on the treatments page. Nothing is quoted differently at the desk.
Downtime and side effects: the part you should read twice
Lifting is an intricate process of inserting a thread into the skin layer, so bruising and swelling depend on your skin and usually last around 1 to 2 weeks. That is normal, not a complication. Side effects are possible with any procedure, and you should hear them before you agree to the treatment.
- Swelling and bruising along the thread path: commonly 1–2 weeks
- Tightness when smiling or chewing wide for the first several days
- A temporary dimple or puckering at an entry point as tissue settles
- Tenderness when you press the cheek or lie on that side
- Asymmetry while swelling is uneven — judge the sides only after two weeks
Why visitors fly in for a korean thread lift, and how a visit fits a short trip
Two reasons come up in my consultations. Price: the list above is the Korean price, and the same package would cost considerably more in many home markets. Language: English, Japanese and Chinese interpreters are in the clinic and stay with you from the consultation through the treatment, so you are not nodding along to a plan you half-understood. A structured consultation comes first, then I plan and perform the treatment one to one.
Practically: we are a 1-minute walk from Myeongdong Station Exit 5 on Line 4, also near Hoehyeon Station Exit 7 across from Shinsegae, on the 3rd floor of the Korea Daeyungak Tower with a Twosome Place and Hana Bank at street level. Hours are Mon–Fri 10:00–20:00 and Sat–Sun 09:00–15:00, so a weekend slot is realistic. The steps on the day are short: 1-on-1 consultation, you wash your face, anaesthetic cream, then the lifting treatment.
- 01Message us with photos and dates before you fly; we hold a slot.
- 02Book the thread lift for the first or second day of the trip, not the last.
- 03Keep the next 2–3 days light — walking and shopping are fine, saunas are not.
- 04Expect to fly home still slightly swollen; the korean thread lift before and after arrives at weeks 3–8.
- 05If you also want a jaw or neck plan, read our note on non-surgical jowls treatment before your consultation.

One last honest note from Muse Clinic Myeongdong: genuine product and correct dosage, shown and explained, is the clinic's first motto — and that includes telling you when threads are the wrong tool for the face in front of me.

Questions people ask
Before you message us
What does a korean thread lift before and after look like at one month?
By four weeks most of the swelling and bruising is gone and the collagen along the thread path has started to form. The change people notice in photos is a cleaner jaw line and less drag at the nasolabial area, rather than a different face. It reads as firmer, not reshaped. Results and how long they last vary from person to person.
How long does a thread lift last?
The threads themselves dissolve; what remains is the collagen they triggered along their path. For Jamber Thread Lifting the holding period averages about 10 to 14 months. For the same area, lighter threads can usually be repeated after about 3 months and the stronger cog types after more than 6 months, decided at a consultation. It varies by individual.
What is the downtime for a face thread lift before and after?
Because the thread is passed through the skin layer, bruising and swelling are part of the plan, not a complication. They usually last around 1 to 2 weeks depending on your skin. You can wash your face and wear makeup 2 to 3 hours after the treatment, and we ask you to keep DuoDerm on the entry points for 1 to 2 days.
Does a nose thread lift before and after look natural?
Museko places a 4th-generation PDO thread along the nose bridge and columella to hold a soft, straight line with a short recovery period. The height you get is limited by your own anatomy, which is why I measure and discuss it before placing anything. Swelling in the first days exaggerates the change, so judge it after a week or two.
How much is a korean thread lift in Seoul at Muse Clinic?
Face thread lifting starts from ₩100,000 (excl. 10% VAT) for All Re Ju Thread Mono 20 lines, Jamber Thread Lifting from ₩200,000, and Museko nose threads from ₩180,000. Packages that add contour injections, Radiesse, Skin vive or ALL TITE cost more. Every number is the same list a Korean patient sees, and the full list is published on the treatments page.
Can I get a thread lift on a short trip to Korea?
Yes, if you plan the dates around the bruising rather than around your flight home. I usually suggest placing threads early in the trip so the first few days of swelling pass while you are still in Seoul. We are 1 minute from Myeongdong Station Exit 5, open Mon–Fri 10:00–20:00 and Sat–Sun 09:00–15:00, with interpreters in the clinic.
Results and maintenance period vary by individual. Every procedure carries the possibility of side effects, which are explained before you agree to treatment. Prices exclude 10% VAT and event prices may change. This article is general information from the clinic and is not a diagnosis; suitability is decided at the consultation.
