I am Dr. Sarang Lim, Head Doctor at Muse Clinic Myeongdong — I trained at Inje University College of Medicine, completed residency training at Paik Medical Center, am a member of the Korean Academy of Aesthetic Plastic & Laser Medicine, and our clinic is a Cynosure certified laser center, which is why laser hair removal Korea questions land in my consultation room almost every week from people planning a Seoul trip. The direct answer: on the women's list a single underarm session starts from ₩10,000 (excl. 10% VAT), the men's list starts from ₩15,000 (excl. 10% VAT), and nearly every area is sold as a 1, 5 or 10-session option because hair grows in cycles.

Below is the price logic area by area, how many sessions it realistically takes, what the visit looks like with an interpreter beside you, and the one scheduling detail that catches visitors out: we do not run hair removal on Sundays. Every number you will be quoted is the same number a Korean patient is quoted, and the whole list is public on the treatments page.

Why visitors fly in for Korean hair removal

Three reasons come up over and over in consultations. The price list is one list — there is no foreigner version of it, so you pay what the person booked before you paid. Interpreters in English, Japanese and Chinese are in the clinic and stay with you from consultation through treatment, which matters when you are explaining skin history and medication. And the structured consultation leads into a plan set by the head doctor rather than a counter staff member reading a package script.

  • One published price list, identical for Korean and foreign patients. Prices exclude 10% VAT.
  • Separate menus for women and men, because beard hair and leg hair are not the same job for the laser.
  • Device: Apogee+, which uses an air-cooling system and an air-shock method to reduce the sting of each pulse.
  • 1-minute walk from Myeongdong Station Exit 5, so a session fits between shopping stops.
  • Open Mon–Fri 10:00–20:00 and Sat–Sun 09:00–15:00 — but hair removal is not performed on Sundays.

If you are also comparing clinics on language, the practical details are in our note on what an English-speaking dermatologist visit in Seoul looks like. You can see the rest of what we do at Muse Clinic Myeongdong on the main page.

Laser hair removal Korea: what a session actually costs

Price follows area size and session count, nothing else. The underarm laser hair removal cost is the number most people check first, and it is the smallest on the women's list; calves with knees, full face, bikini and Brazilian climb from there. The Korean hair removal menu for men is priced separately, with the beard zones — upper lip, chin, cheeks, sideburns, upper neck — as the most requested block.

Prices exclude 10% VAT. Hair removal is not available on Sundays. Event prices run for a limited period and may change — the treatment pages show the current numbers.

Three things change your final number: which areas you combine, how many sessions you buy at once (1, 5 or 10), and whether an event bundle covers what you wanted anyway — for example the women's underarm plus upper lip 5-session offer, or the men's full-face 5-session offer. Visitors who ask how much is laser hair removal in Korea are usually comparing the single-session price, when the per-session price inside a package is the more useful figure.

How many sessions, and why one is never enough

Each hair follicle cycles through a growth phase, a transition and a resting phase. The laser can only disable a follicle that is actively growing hair on the day you are treated — the resting ones are simply not there to target yet. That is the whole reason packages exist, and the reason nobody honest will promise you a clear underarm after one visit.

What people typically notice across a hair removal course
StageWhat you notice
Session 1Area is shaved, then treated. Redness and small bumps around the follicles for a few hours. Treated hairs loosen and shed over the next weeks.
Sessions 2–3Regrowth comes back patchier and finer in the treated zone. You shave less often.
Sessions 4–5Our treatment notes put around 80% of the hair-reduction effect at roughly the fifth session for most areas.
After 5 sessionsMen's beard and the female Brazilian area commonly need more sessions — this is why 10-session options are on the list.

The gap between sessions follows your own hair cycle rather than a fixed calendar, and we set it at the consultation. Results and how long they last vary from person to person.

Full body laser hair removal cost in South Korea: how it is built

There is no single button on our list labelled 'whole body'. If you are adding up the full body laser hair removal cost in South Korea, you build it from the area lines, and you will usually find that two or three areas carry almost all the annoyance. People add the rest later rather than paying for skin they never think about.

  • Face zones: upper lip, chin centre, glabella, eyebrow line, hairline or forehead, full face.
  • Upper body: underarms, hands and fingers, upper arm, lower arm with elbows, full arm.
  • Lower body: calves with knees, thighs, full leg, feet and toes.
  • Torso: chest or abdomen, full back, buttocks.
  • Intimate areas: bikini, Y-zone, perineum, anal, Brazilian — each priced as its own line so you only pay for what you want.

For men the same logic applies, with the beard block (chin, cheeks, sideburns, upper lip, upper neck) as the usual starting point and one event option that adds a soothing treatment course alongside it. Numbing cream can be added to the men's face event option if you are sensitive on the upper lip — ask at the consultation.

What the visit looks like

  1. 01Shave the areas at home with a razor shortly before you come. Do not wax or pluck for several weeks beforehand.
  2. 02Consultation with an interpreter: skin type, recent sun exposure, medication, previous hair removal, and the areas you want.
  3. 03I check the areas and set the laser parameters for your skin and hair, then the device and settings are confirmed before we start.
  4. 04Treatment: cooled air runs over the skin as the pulses are delivered. A small area like the underarm takes a few minutes; legs take longer.
  5. 05Aftercare: cooling, sunscreen advice, and the booking interval for your next session before you leave.

Side effects and the honest limits

Laser hair removal is a routine procedure, but it puts heat into skin, and you should hear the risks before you agree. Most of what happens is short-lived and settles on its own; the things to take seriously are pigment and sun.

  • Redness and small raised bumps around the treated follicles for a few hours to a day.
  • Temporary darkening or lightening of the skin, more likely on recently tanned or naturally deeper skin — this is why settings are adjusted per person.
  • Rare blistering or a superficial burn if skin is tanned, treated too soon after sun, or if aftercare is ignored.
  • Hair that was resting on treatment day grows normally afterwards and needs the following sessions.
  • Some areas — the male beard and the female Brazilian zone — are known to need extra sessions beyond a standard course.

Fitting it into a short Seoul trip

Be realistic about the format. A single session fits a one-off trip and is the right call if you want to test how your skin reacts, or clear one area before an event. A 5 or 10-session package makes sense if you are returning to Korea, living here, or planning a longer stay — the sessions need to be spread out across weeks, not stacked across one week.

Practical details: we are a 1-minute walk from Myeongdong Station Exit 5 on Line 4, also close to Hoehyeon Station Exit 7 across from Shinsegae, on the 3rd floor of the building with a Twosome Place café and Hana Bank at street level. Weekday hours are 10:00–20:00 and weekend hours 09:00–15:00 — but book hair removal for a weekday or a Saturday, because we do not run it on Sundays. If you are still weighing clinics, our guide on choosing a skin clinic in Seoul as a foreigner covers what to ask before you pay.

Questions people ask

Before you message us

How much is laser hair removal in Korea?

At Muse Clinic Myeongdong the women's hair removal list starts from ₩10,000 for a single underarm session and the men's list from ₩15,000, both excluding 10% VAT. Larger areas such as calves, full face or Brazilian cost more, and most areas are also sold as 5 and 10-session packages. Event prices run for a limited period, so the treatment page always shows the current numbers.

Does laser hair removal Korea cost more for foreigners?

Not at our clinic. You are quoted from the same published list a Korean patient is quoted from, and that list is public on the treatments page with every area and every session count. There is no separate foreigner menu and no charge for the interpreter who stays with you. The only additions are 10% VAT and any optional extra you choose at the consultation.

How many laser hair removal sessions do I need?

Hair can only be treated while the follicle is in its growth phase, and not every follicle is in that phase on the same day, which is why one session never clears an area. Our treatment notes put around 80% of the hair-reduction effect at roughly the fifth session for most areas. Men's beard areas and the female Brazilian area commonly need more. Results vary from person to person.

What is the underarm laser hair removal cost for a first visit?

Underarm is one of the smaller areas on the women's list and starts from ₩10,000 excluding VAT for a single session, with 5 and 10-session options priced as packages. There is also an event bundle that pairs underarm with the upper lip area. Because the zone is small, the laser part takes only a few minutes, so it fits easily between appointments in Myeongdong.

Can I book laser hair removal on a Sunday in Seoul?

No. Hair removal is the one thing we do not run on Sundays, even though the clinic itself is open Saturday and Sunday 09:00–15:00. Book Monday to Friday between 10:00 and 20:00, or on a Saturday morning. Send us your travel dates on WhatsApp and we will suggest a slot that fits around your flights and shopping.

Do I need to shave before laser hair removal?

Yes. The area is treated shaved, so razor-shave shortly before your appointment; our menu is built around self-shaving. Do not wax, pluck or thread for several weeks beforehand, because the laser needs the hair root in place. Avoid sunbathing and self-tanner before the visit, and tell us about recent sun exposure so the settings can be adjusted for your skin.

Results and maintenance period vary by individual. Every procedure carries the possibility of side effects, which are explained before you agree to treatment. Prices exclude 10% VAT and event prices may change. This article is general information from the clinic and is not a diagnosis; suitability is decided at the consultation.
