Korean laser treatment is the reason a lot of people put a clinic morning into a Seoul itinerary. The honest version is less glamorous than the search results: a laser is a tool, and each one does one job. One breaks up pigment, one resurfaces texture through tiny needles, and some of what gets filed under lasers is not a laser at all but focused ultrasound for lifting.
I am Dr. Sarang Lim, head doctor at Muse Clinic Myeongdong. This guide covers what visitors actually book here, what the numbers are — pico toning starts from ₩39,000 (excl. 10% VAT) — and how one appointment fits a three-day trip. Every price I mention is on the same list a Korean patient is quoted.
What Korean laser treatment means on a clinic menu
Search results mix the terms — laser treatment in Korea, Korea laser treatment, laser treatment Korea, Korean laser treatments — but they all land on the same kind of menu. On ours, 77-plus items sit in categories by problem, not by machine, which is the sane way to read them. You pick the concern first; the device follows.
- Pigment and tone: toning lasers for freckles, melasma, dull skin and tattoo removal.
- Texture and scars: microneedling radiofrequency and resurfacing for enlarged pores and acne scars.
- Firmness: focused ultrasound and radiofrequency lifting — often grouped with lasers, technically not lasers.
- Spots and bumps: small CO2 work such as mole removal from ₩10,000 (excl. VAT).
- Injections that pair with laser days: skin boosters and hyaluronic acid formulations given in the same visit.
Is there a best laser treatment in Korea? Not one answer
The searches that bring people to this page are near-identical: best laser treatment in Korea, best laser treatment Seoul, best Korean laser treatment, best laser treatment Korea, best laser treatment in South Korea. They all ask the same practical question — which machine should I book. There is no single answer, because a laser that breaks up pigment does nothing for a dented acne scar, and neither of them firms a jawline.
So I work backwards from the complaint. Below is the shortcut I use in consultations, and it is also how you should read any clinic's menu before you pay for it.
| What bothers you | Where it sits in the skin | What I would reach for |
|---|---|---|
| Freckles, melasma, uneven tone | Melanin in the epidermis and deeper | Pico Laser Toning, usually as a series |
| Rough texture, wide pores, acne scars | Dermis — collagen needs rebuilding | Potenza microneedling radiofrequency |
| Sagging jawline, loose cheeks | SMAS and the layers under the skin | Shurink Universe focused ultrasound |
| Dryness, fine cheek lines, dull surface | Water content of the skin itself | Skin vive hyaluronic acid injection |
| A single raised mole or spot | Surface lesion | Small CO2 removal, one short visit |
The Korean laser treatments visitors book here most
Pico Laser Toning — pigment and tone
Pico Laser Toning fires pulses measured in trillionths of a second, so the energy hits melanin and gives surrounding tissue little time to heat up. We use 755nm for Picosure toning and 1064nm for Picoplus toning, aimed at blemishes, freckles, acne marks, fine lines and overall brightening. It starts from ₩39,000 (excl. VAT) for an event single session, and bespoke and 5- or 10-session packages exist because pigment answers to repetition rather than to one heroic session. If you want the device detail on its own, read my longer note on pico laser Korea.
Potenza — pores, acne scars, texture
Potenza puts microneedles into the dermis and releases radiofrequency there for an instant, so the surface is largely spared while the layer underneath is pushed to rebuild. It softens enlarged pores and acne scars and evens out tone. Settings are matched to your skin, and most of our Potenza options are bundled with a booster or a cooling step, from ₩159,000 (excl. VAT). Many people notice a change after one session, though the number of sessions depends on your skin and your environment.
Shurink Universe — the lifting that gets called a laser
Shurink Universe is high-intensity focused ultrasound, not a laser, but it sits on the same booking list and visitors ask for it in the same breath. It creates thermal coagulation points deep in the tissue; collagen responds over the following weeks and the jaw and cheek lines tighten gradually. From ₩41,000 (excl. VAT) for 100 shots on the event line. Full shot counts and modes are in my Korean HIFU and Shurink Universe guide.
Skin vive — the injection that often shares the appointment
Skin vive is an FDA-approved hyaluronic acid formulation injected into the skin itself to improve fine cheek wrinkles and rough texture, from ₩220,000 (excl. VAT) for 1cc. I mention it here because visitors with one clinic slot often want tone work plus hydration in the same hour, and this is the part that handles dryness. Results and how long they last vary from person to person.

Korean laser treatment price: what moves the number
Three things change what you pay: the device, how much of it you get (shots, passes, vials), and whether sessions are bought singly or as a package. A toning session on its own and a bespoke session that layers several modes plus a modelling pack are different products with different prices. Entry-level options also exist — Laser Toning from ₩29,000 (excl. VAT) is the simplest line on the pigment menu.

Prices exclude 10% VAT. Event prices run for a limited period and may change; the treatment page shows the current number.
A Korean laser treatment in Korea is normally sold by the session, so you can do one, see how your skin behaves, and decide about a package later. The whole list, every option and every number, is published on the treatments page — read it before you message anyone, including us.
How a laser visit fits a short trip
This is the part most guides skip. The appointment itself is short; the planning is about what your skin does for the next week, especially if you have outdoor sightseeing booked.
- 01Message us with your dates and a daylight photo. We reply with options and a time.
- 02Arrive at the 3rd floor, Korea Daeyungak Tower — one minute from Myeongdong Station Exit 5.
- 03Structured consultation with an interpreter, then the head doctor examines your skin and sets the plan.
- 04Cleansing, numbing cream if the treatment needs it, then the laser or ultrasound itself.
- 05Cooling or a soothing pack, aftercare instructions in your language, and you are back on the street.
| When | What is normal |
|---|---|
| Day 0 | Warmth and redness for a few hours. Sunscreen and no scrubbing. |
| Days 1–3 | Pigment spots can look slightly darker before they fade. Mild flaking is possible. |
| Week 1 | Tone looks more even; texture work starts to feel smoother. |
| Weeks 4–8 | Collagen-based results from microneedling or ultrasound show here, not on day one. |
| Series | Pigment and scars usually need repeated sessions spaced weeks apart. |
Risks, and who decides what you get
Every energy-based treatment carries the possibility of side effects, and you should hear them before you agree to anything. On toning that usually means transient redness, mild swelling, or pigment that darkens briefly before clearing. On microneedling radiofrequency it means pinpoint marks and redness that settle, and on focused ultrasound, tenderness in the treated area for a few days.
- Redness, warmth or short-lived swelling after a session.
- Pigment temporarily looking darker before it fades — expected, not a failure.
- Post-inflammatory marks if you pick at flaking skin; related reading: post inflammatory erythema.
- Underwhelming results when the wrong device was chosen for the problem — the reason the consultation comes first.
- Active inflammatory acne, pregnancy and recent isotretinoin use all change the plan; tell us.
Choosing a Korean laser clinic as a foreigner
Most visitors begin by searching for a Gangnam laser clinic, because that is the district they have read about. Myeongdong is the other practical option: you are probably already there, and a clinic slot between shopping stops costs you no extra travel. What matters when you pick a Korean laser clinic is not the postcode. It is whether the price list is public, who holds the handpiece, and whether you can ask a question without a translation app.
Here is what we put in writing. One price list, identical to the Korean price — no foreigner menu, and the full list is online. Interpreters in the clinic in English, Japanese and Chinese, with someone beside you from consultation through treatment. The head doctor consults and treats: after the structured consultation, the plan is made and performed one to one by Dr. Sarang Lim. Genuine products and correct dosage, checked in front of you, is the clinic's first motto.
Practical details: 3F, Korea Daeyungak Tower, 97 Toegye-ro, Jung-gu — one minute from Myeongdong Station Exit 5, also near Hoehyeon Station Exit 7 across from Shinsegae. Open Monday to Friday 10:00–20:00 and Saturday to Sunday 09:00–15:00, so a weekend slot is realistic. Parking in the same building runs ₩1,000 per 10 minutes. We handle foreign patients through WhatsApp and Instagram rather than phone, because the phone line has no foreign-language support.

If you are still deciding between clinics rather than between devices, read how to choose a skin clinic in Seoul as a foreigner and what visitors actually book for skin care in Korea. If acne itself is the main issue rather than its marks, start with Korean acne treatment instead.

Questions people ask
Before you message us
How much does Korean laser treatment cost in Seoul?
It depends on the device and the number of sessions. On our list, Pico Laser Toning starts from ₩39,000 for an event single session, Potenza combinations start from ₩159,000, and Shurink Universe lifting starts from ₩41,000 for 100 shots. All prices exclude 10% VAT and are the same numbers a Korean patient is quoted. Event prices run for a limited period, so the treatment page always shows today's figure.
What is the best laser treatment in Korea for pigmentation?
For freckles, melasma and dull tone, a toning laser is the usual starting point, and pico toning is the version most visitors book because each pulse is extremely short. One session helps; pigment normally needs a series. If your main problem is a dented acne scar or loose skin, a toning laser is the wrong tool and I will say so at the consultation. Results and how long they last vary from person to person.
Can I do a laser treatment in Korea on a short trip?
Yes, and most of our visitors do. A single toning session is a short appointment, and you can walk back into Myeongdong afterwards. If you want two sessions, space them a few weeks apart rather than squeezing both into one week. Tell us your arrival and departure dates on WhatsApp and we will suggest what fits.
Do foreigners pay more at a Korean laser clinic?
Not at Muse Clinic Myeongdong. There is one price list, it is published in full on the website, and it is the same list a Korean patient sees. Prices exclude 10% VAT. We also keep English, Japanese and Chinese interpreters in the clinic, so the consultation and the quote happen in a language you read.
Does Korean laser treatment hurt, and is there downtime?
Most patients describe toning as warm flicks on the skin. For microneedling radiofrequency we use numbing cream first, and with preparation and aftercare you should allow about an hour. Redness or warmth for a few hours is normal. Strict sun protection for the following days matters more than anything you do on the day itself.
Should I pick a Gangnam laser clinic or somewhere closer to my hotel?
The district is not what decides the result. What decides it is who examines your skin, whether the price list is published, and whether you can ask questions without a translation app. We are a one-minute walk from Myeongdong Station Exit 5 and open Monday to Friday 10:00–20:00, Saturday and Sunday 09:00–15:00, which suits a sightseeing schedule.
Results and maintenance period vary by individual. Every procedure carries the possibility of side effects, which are explained before you agree to treatment. Prices exclude 10% VAT and event prices may change. This article is general information from the clinic and is not a diagnosis; suitability is decided at the consultation.
